Basingstoke Hotel

Stayed for a wedding. There were a couple of staff who were lovely and welcoming and the breakfast was good.

Some staff unfriendly and borderline rude. The room we stayed in had dead moths squashed to the wall, plug didn’t fit in the sink and whole place generally run down and not maintained. Spider webs along the halls and behind furniture and room was hot (it wasn’t a hot day)

Location was close to where I was attending an event It was clean

The room was on top floor and really hot, although it had a AC unit and fan they were poor. There was no toiletries in the room, not even handwash or shower gel. There was no hairdryer either and when I went to call reception to request one there was no phone! When I then went to reception, the receptionist was reluctant and I had to ask her to find me a hairdryer from a different room. She wasn’t very friendly. I was also shocked to find that the gym was not open until 8am on weekends, not helpful when working away. The shower also got stuck on, on my first night which was also very dangerous as I nearly scolded myself trying to turn it off.

The room was a fair size.

It was a little dated in much of the hotel.
