Sahnan Guest House

Andri was the nicest host ever, he helps you a lot with everything you might need, and personalize also the plans you want to do. Me and my family can only recommend to stay at Sahnan guest house.

We stayed for 4 nights in the really great Sahnan Guesthouse run by Andri and his family. The rooms are functionally furnished and offer everything you need. However, you shouldn't expect European luxury. It was a perfect 4 days for us. The tours to the bat cave and the 2-day jungle trek were great adventures and are highly recommended if you have enough courage and a very good basic level of fitness. Andri and his family made our stay particularly enjoyable. The food was always excellent and the always open, friendly and supportive nature of all the hosts made us feel almost at home. Andri speaks very good English so that the organisation of all tours and transport was very easy. We would recommend the Sahnan Guesthouse to anyone and would love to come back when we are in Sumatra.

There was nothing not to love here. The property was clean and well-located, the staff went above and beyond for us by helping us organize rides and activities, the bed was quite comfortable, and the food at the restaurant was tasty and cheap. With the river running by so close, it felt like we were staying at an alpine lodge! The family running the guest house is extremely kind. We couldn’t recommend this place enough. Make sure to bring cash with you, though. As of writing this it’s a cash-only town with the nearest ATM about 7km away.

Great homestay in Bukit Lawang, very clean, very cosy huge bed and AC! The owner arranged a Jungle tour for us and our guide Jonny did an awesome job! We saw a lot of orang Utans and a lot of other animals, he knew a lot about the animals and the jungle which was great! The food was also really good! Can’t recommend this place enough

You have to stay here!! Andri makes you feel like family straight away and is one of the kindest people we ever met, the whole family is so sweet, the rooms are beautiful and so comfortable and have hammocks outside and the food in the restaurant is amazing. We came for one night and stayed almost a week! Thank you so much for having us, we can’t wait to come back one day!

We really enjoyed our stay at Sahnan Guest House! It’s such a nice place to stay in Bukit Lawang. It’s right at the river and just a short walk from the “busy” part of the village. Rooms were clean and comfy. We also had a nice terrace with chairs and a hammock. Bathrooms were pretty spacious. The guest house has a nice garden and you can really emerge into the natural atmosphere. Sadly the Orang-Utans did not visit us at the guest house, but we were visited by some other curious monkeys.

5 starts, we are a couple, at our mid 30's we like to have a bit of a nice guesthouse, clean and friendly staff. Well, if this is what you also want, then we would like to recommend Sahnan's guesthouse. Business is runned by the family, son is perfectly English speaking. Washing service, very tidy and quick, good wifi, good kitchen as well. We recommend tis place.
