Sahnan Guest House

If you want to have a good time and SEE ORANGUTANS this is the place, the team (we had two guides) knows the place like the palm of their hand, they split and search, thus, 2x chance to see orangs!! I consider this an unbeatable technique. While on our tour, we met some people that told us they saw 2 orangs in 2 days, a couple that saw 1 in their whole tour, we saw 8 orangs in just 6 hours or so!! first we saw a teen orang that started following us from the tree tops, then we crossed paths with a mama orang and her baby orang, then a single male adult, then a couple male-female, one more young adult and, THIS IS THE BEST THING THAT HAS HAPPENED TO ME IN A LONG TIME, we were tubing back down the river to the guest house and we saw this HUGE orang, it looked almost 2m and like +200lbs Breakfast was good, super good KopiSusu, omelette, banana pancakes, everything was delicious!

The lovely rooms are set around a beautiful garden, the rooms are very comfortable & very clean. The whole family are so friendly & kind, they helped us with transfers & took us on an excellent trek to see the Orangutan’s, we were very lucky and saw 5 in total. What makes this accommodation stand out is the super friendly family who run it; brothers andri & ambri who speak exceptional english, especially Andri. I’m not sure what their parents were called but they too were super friendly & kind. The family also took in a stray cat we brought with us from Medan. (Thank you so much from the bottom of our hearts for this) Our stay here was the highlight of a 6 week trip in Indonesia. Thank you so much and we hope to return again in the future x

We stayed 6 nights at this beautiful Guesthouse with lovely people. The room was spacious and the patio overlooking the nice garden was a great place to relax. On one afternoon we could even see an orangutan with her baby in the garden. The complementary breakfast was delicious with lot of choices. They have also a restaurant overlooking the river where they serve superb food and juices at very convenient prices. Andri and his family were very friendly and helpful for any inquiry we had and arranged our transport from airport and after to Berastagi. We went on the 1 day jungle trek with them and had a great time with Amri and Baba as well as a very interesting village tour. Comunication before arrival was excellent. Wifi was working very good.

The only thing we missed was a shelf in the bathroom as well as a mirror over the sink (but it was in the room so not a major issue)

Unbelievable friendly and helpful. Very nice restaurant with good food and view.

This guesthouse is so nice!!! Everything is great, the owners are the most friendly people you ever meet, the service is great, the garden is beautiful, the room is very clean, breakfast is included! What can I say…. Stay there!!! They did 100000 extra miles to make the stay fantastic: we did many great things, like going to the market (30 min from the guesthouse), we went into rice fields and my children loved the soap making! And Eco print! And I really advice you to go to the jungle with them and guide Pipet. Lovely people, really into eco tourism, very responsible…. The jungle tour is fantastic! We love to come here!!!!! A big thanks for you all!!!!!!

a very friendly and helpful family that runs the guesthouse. we booked a 2-day trek through them and it was super well organised. good food, good guides,... the room was tidy, sometimes the village electricity went out, but then a generator was turned on in the evening.

Andri and his family were incredibly friendly, helpful and every other positive qualities that exist! :) The location is perfect for jungle trekking and other activities.

Keep in mind there is no airconditioning in the room. This made it difficult to get some sleep for me, but I’m a terrible sleeper anyway :)

I really loved this place, because it was quiet, and near everything. Wifi was good too. I recommend this place.
