The Commodore Hotel

The Commodore Hotel is a delightful place to stay, very clean and welcoming. The staff were very pleasant and friendly always willing to oblige. The room was very clean and tidy, yes the bathroom is a little dated but it is clean and does all you need very well. And what a setting looking across the estuary to Appledore. Definitely a place to revisit. Thank you all.

Great staff, accommodation very clean, food in the restaurant was excellent. Would recommend it. Internet worked well. Very good parking.

Great situation overlooking the estuary and over to Appledore.

Bed very soft.

We have visited the Commodore hotel many times over the past three to four years and been very satisfied with the service and food selection and quality, however as of late, six months or so, there has been, what seems, a shake up of staff and menu change, and not for the better. This evening a soft fried egg was requested with the gammon steak. When it arrived, eventually, it was not soft. The waitress had the nerve to disagree with me. I replied that if the yolk does not run, then its not a soft egg. A fresh, soft egg was brought quite quickly. We ordered more drinks, which took between ten and fifteen minutes to arrive, by this time we were almost finished our main coarse. Coffee's were ordered. One decaf. When they arrived they were placed on the table with no words spoken from our server. When we got the bill, they had charged for an extra egg. These , what may seem, small things, can make all the difference between good and poor service. To me, this came under poor service. I hope this is not the way they intend to continue. Young staff require some or better training.

When we arrived we were met in the car park and our luggage taken to our room and then offered refreshments in the lounge we were made to feel very welcome . The room was very nicely furnished and clean and had a beautiful sea view We availed of breakfast and evening meal the food was good The staff were excellent would recommend this hotel and it’s beautiful location We feel it should have a 5 star rating.

We have just returned from a wonderful stay at The Commodore. We had booked for 2 nights but added a third night whilst we were there. The hotel is in a fantastic location and is clean and welcoming. All the staff are so friendly and make you feel at home immediately. As soon as we pulled on the car park Gary welcomed us, took our luggage and arranged tea and biscuits. Our room was sea-facing with a balcony and a beautiful view over to Appledore. We only had one evening meal in the hotel restaurant and it was very good indeed from the quality of the food to the excellent service. With hindsight we wished we had dined there every night as our experience with local restaurants wasn't great. We would love to return in the future. Thank you

The staff were exceptionally friendly and attentive. Room was functional and clean. The views are amazing from the restaurant.

Nothing I didn’t like at all.

The Commodore is the most wonderful family run hotel where you will be made to feel at home as soon as you walk in. I have stayed at many hotels in my life and this one is honestly as close to perfect as I can remember. Fabulous location with lovely views, beautifully furnished throughout, everything is immaculately clean and working as it should and it is exceptionally well run with great care and attention to detail. On top of all this it is very welcoming and friendly with great staff providing fantastic food and service. We loved our stay here and would absolutely stay again and recommend it to anyone.
