The Commodore Hotel

Lovely se view room with all the comforts and extra touches. Excellent dinner and service too.

This hotel is in a great location and harps back to a golden era of accommodation. However, the rooms are quite small, especially room 21, and so are the bathrooms. The building shows it's age in places - especially the creaky floors. Room 21 is also at the end of a long trek from reception and, consequently, the hot water takes its time to get there. Once there, the shower was a mere trickle! The staff are great and cannot do enough to ensure that your stay is a good one. For the price there should be bottled water included in the room.

Spent a long weekend here with a car club (we filled the hotel). Great location looking out across the estuary to Appledore, perfect for exploring North Devon. Food superb, lovely rooms and friendly helpful staff. Nothing was too much trouble, highly recommend

We had a wonderful time at the Commodore and were well looked after by the staff.

We had a short DBB breakfast to celebrate a milestone birthday. The welcome was lovely, Gary came to help us with our bags. The room was really nice, spacious and very comfortable with a view of the beach. Dinner and breakfast were excellent! Overall a fantastic experience that we will repeat.

The staff are amazing, the location is unbelievable and we have a balcony overlooking the beach. The sunset was sublime.
