The Commodore Hotel

Having stayed at The Commodore before, we knew how good it would be. It really didn’t disappoint. From the friendly welcome and help with the luggage and a welcome tray of coffee and biscuits, we soon settled in. We were able to choose our dinner options, that helped when we went to dinner as the food was served almost immediately. The food was excellent and service good too. Breakfast too was of good quality food. Overall our two night stay was excellent and I’m sure we will visit again.

View is brilliant, rooms are spotless and very comfortable. Food has a well deserved excellent reputation - superb flavours, beautiful presentation. Staff are extremely efficient and nice.

No comfortable sofas on the ground floor to relax and read a book and look at the view.

We stayed overnight stay for dinner with friends and family, we all love this place as a venue with its easy parking. And, it’s ideal due to the lovely, warm, welcome; fabulous location (on a sunny evening looking out at gorgeous views over the estuary towards Appledore, with the palm trees and boats in the distance, it can feel like you’re in the South of France). Beautifully presented, great food (we all had something different); nice wines. Rooms are spacious, modern, clean and comfortable. We plan to make it an annual event as everyone had such a fantastic time. The one, teeny weeny gripe (scraping the barrel here) would be the shower in the corner 1st floor bedroom with balcony; I had a bath (lovely); husband ‘tried’ to shower but spent ages getting hot water to come through, and finally, when it did, it barely dribbled out. Perhaps it needs a pump, or changing to an electric shower. But, that is the only ‘less than perfect’ aspect of our stay, which we all thoroughly enjoyed.

My wife and I were part of a group of Porsche enthusiasts and we had a fantastic stay at the Commodore. The condition throughout the hotel was great, being clean and with well considered décor. All meals were exceptional and the team working there were top-notch. We've already considered returning sometime next year, to enjoy the local area whilst using the Commodore as a base.

We stayed at the Commodore with a group of friends on a dinner bed & breakfast. From start to finish the hotel and staff could not do enough to ensure our stay was outstanding. The quality of food for the number in our party was truly amazing. Thank you to all the staff at the Commodore for making our long weekend truly memorable.

Our fourth visit - all too short. Still our favourite hotel in the whole of the UK. Family run - nothing is too much trouble. from the welcoming pot of tea or coffee in the lounge - views great, meals delicious, rooms comfortable. We will be back!
