Orchid House Tulum Beach

The beach is amazing. Room was nice. Food was decent

- Staff said they could reserve a place for new year’s eve. When we arrived there was no booking. - Bad smell in the room - Super expensive. Even had to pay for coffee capsules in the room (first time ever)

Hot water and the Air Conditioner. Even if these amenities seem common to you, these things are luxuries on Tulum beach zone.

Too expensive relative to what it offers. They even charge you for in-room machine coffee. The only free thing is water, but no plastic bottles, they have a glass bottle to refill it at the bar.

Heaven! The style of this place is a little rustic – it seems to just sprout out of the sand – but the level of luxury and quality is fantastic. The restaurant does incredible food!

All the resorts in this area are right next to each other, and some of them like to pump out the music ALLLLLLL day long, which kind of kills the quiet beach vibe IMO!

The location is excellent, right on the beach where all the clubs/restaurants/bars are. It has a private beach area with sunbeds and umbrellas.

1. The door/window door to the rooms has a small GAP and CANNOT CLOSE PROPERLY and this is for ALL the rooms which is completely unacceptable given the fact that you sleep in the jungle. Even though you have a net to close, mosquitos could still enter and we even had a small LIZARD in the room the first night we entered. See photo of the gap and how the DOOR CANNOT FULLY CLOSE. When we told the staff they said THIS IS HOW THE ROOMS WERE MADE 2. The restaurant at the hotel closes at 18:30 so you always have to go somewhere to have dinner and if you dont have a car (like us) you have to walk on the dark street every night as taxis are v expensive. 3. No real security at the hotel, the reception staff leaves before 22:00. 4. The food at the beach is expensive(£5 for a coffee) and you dont have anything included even if you pay so much 5. The outdoor bath tabs/small pools in the rooms nobody cleans them so you cant really use them

Loved that the hotel was right on the beach! The hotel restaurant food and drinks were refreshing, delicious and affordable. The area was quiet and cute, perfect stay for a beach getaway. Location of the hotel was in the middle of all of the action in Tulum main strip. The room was a little small, but bed was comfortable and it did the trick for my two night stay.

Wish there was a TV or some more entertainment, but understandable as this is supposed to be a beach getaway. Toiletries were strange, oily with a weird smell. The only other annoying thing was having to take my bags through the path/boards on the sand, but I get the hotel was on the beach so it was to be expected.

They are strict about having your own food and drink in the beach loungers, which was disappointing. We stayed at another beachfront hotel on the same trip and they had no such rule. Tulum is expensive so it was nice to be able to bring some beers and snacks from the market rather than paying restaurant prices all the time. I feel as a guest I shouldn't be restricted. Maybe for day pass visitors, where the hotel/restaurant is trying to make money but otherwise, thumbs down on that policy.

Food! It’s just amazing.

Parking space, the lobby it’s just doesn’t feel like you’re getting to the hotel. In fact it doesn't even go with what awaits you after those doors.

Extremely overpriced bar and restaurant, I got food poisoning as well from the burger. Also the hotel is located in a narrow and dark road, with no curb side, which made our night walks to restaurants/convenience store a bit scary because you walk along the car lane with no light
