The serenity of the place.

Quirky. Amazing building & grounds. Irish stately home crossed with a convent school. It's 15 mins drive from Oamaru. No restaurant or breakfast options on site so come prepared. Very clean & comfortable.

I had no idea when I booked this that it was a historic property. It was like staying in a National Landmark building...big, old world craftsmanship, richly appointed. Very pleasantly surprised.

The large rooms in our suite had wide windows and leafy views. The kitchenette was thoughtfully provisioned. The place was extremely quiet-we thought we were the only guests but there was at least a bus full of others.

Had to do laundry in town 15 kms away.

Beautiful location - building & gardens. Lovely clean comfortable spacious room, very quiet & wonderful helpful staff & a chocolate room!!! A+++++++

Nothing.

I liked the history of the building. I enjoyed visiting the beautiful chapel on-site. The 'resort' also had a chocolatier situated in residence. Delicious Belgium chocolate. The hostess made me feel welcome and was friendly and hospitable. I appreciated this as a solo guest.

The room I was given, close to the main door and staircase, allowed constant noise from other guests entering and exiting the hotel during the evening. The noise, particularly, coming from the occupiers one floor above it, lead to a disruptive stay. They were slamming doors, moving furniture and talking/arguing until 2am in the morning. This did not allow for a restful nights sleep.

What an amazing venue. Huge place with lovely spacious rooms. Very clean and the staff were really helpful. They also make Belgian Chocolate on site! If you ask you can visit the kitchen and watch it being made. Beautiful grounds and a fantastic place to stay

Room was clean. Parking was good. Pleased to see a fridge, toaster and microwave. Really handy.

Could hear every step upstairs guests took. Needs insulation or carpet with underlay. Window over the door needs to be covered as light came in all night.
