The room and the staff were lovely but continental breakfast was poor it was basically cereals and toast. each day they ran out of basic things like milk or butter etc

the poor continental breakfast it was like they didnt care about how guesses felt rather a mis match of hospitality

Lovely old house but it’s in the early stages of a major renovation. In a quiet location Staff were very friendly and super helpful

Wasn’t notified of the restaurant closure until after I’d booked. Whilst the staff offered catering from a takeaway, I we chose to go out. Breakfast was described as continental but comprised of cheap sliced loaves for toast, croissants, cheap yoghurts and an apple or an orange. The cereal was basic. Whilst the room had an ironing board and trouser press, there was no hairdryer and there was a large patch of black mold on the shower ceiling My colleagues room had no mirrors making putting on her makeup a challenge. The driveway has a lot of deep potholes making our can driver reluctant to drive to the door However this is clearly the start of. Renovation project so hopefully things will improve. I hope they seek out input from womem visitors as those touchrs appreciated by women think were misding.

Driveway, full of potholes, staff uninterested, room was dark and cold. No door on shower and side light didnt work. The continental breakfast was very poor, not enough food even bread, not fresh juice. Not boiled water for tea ( only kept warm on stove ). Staff unavailable and rather unhelpful when appeared.

The building itself and the location are beautiful. From the outside the hall is simply stunning and there are a number of original features inside that show what a wonderful place to stay it must once have been.

There was only one member of staff on site at any time. We arrived quite late at night, so this made perfect sense for the evening shift...but there was still only one member of staff visible throughout what should have been the busy breakfast period too. This meant there was no one to show us to a table, explain the breakfast menu or even to replenish the meagre food and drink items. The breakfast itself was very poor. A few varieties of own brand cereals and a couple of ultra thin slices of value bread were all that was on offer. There was a sign that said "fresh pastries", but no evidence that the sign had ever been accurate. Worse still, the room we had was absolutely freezing and felt really damp. Considering our visit was in the middle of heatwave, I'm not entirely sure how this was possible. It is not an exaggeration to say this was the worst hotel stay we've ever had.

Close drive from weekend exploring Bronte country. Lovely old building. Room old fashioned but pleasant. Loved the four poster bed.

Strange empty atmosphere. Can't put my finger in it. Owners could do so much with this lovely old hotel. Staff however very helpful but looked bored. Very dusty reception desk... Why?? Bar area closed when we visited in march... Maybe low season. Breakfast was adequate for the price we paid, just continent but coffee was free flowing and lovely. Would definitely stay again just for the four poster bed 😄😄

Amazing room. Lots of character. The room layout. The bathroom. Spacious. Quiet.

Creaky floorboards. Only 1 staff on site. Not enough choice to be considered a continental breakfast.

Breakfast was very poor. Dried out/mouldy fruit. Very cheap fromage frais. Very cheap bread for toast. A couple of cold meats rolled up. Packet cheese. Not continental at all. No water at all from the hot tap in the bathroom. Very dusty room. No mattress protector on the bed.
