I was poured a nice cool refreshing pint of Stella Artois whilst waiting for Reception to open.

I have mobility & Balance issue but there was no 'Accessible' Facility that I was able to consider. However, I have some portable aids so I can overcome most issues. At 6ft4" I struggled to use the Toilet and access the shower as the toilet is very low, very close to the wall and sink with little room for manoeuvre. The shower entrance was just very narrow. The shower tray is very shallow and consequently, water overflowed onto floor and pooled along the length of the shower and under the sink and bins so the use of the remaining towels had to be employed to soak/mop up. It seems the obvious refurbishment by the contractors was perfunctory. Looks reasonable but not to a great standard. Sadly, I can't say I enjoyed the breakfasts. I am fussy though and others at breakfast seemed perfectly happy and I heard one couple saying they enjoyed theirs'. There was choice from the hot trays and options were constantly being topped up which is good, but specifically, I hate half cooked bacon. One half untouched by heat so just white fat, and the half mostly over cooked. I suppose that's what you get when you overlap the rashers to squeeze everything in for Factory style cooking. I didn't fancy or like the remaining choices, but as stated before, most of the customers I saw didn't seem bothered.

The room was very clean and everything you needed for a short stay was there

There was no reception staff on arrival, and was advised to phone the restaurant for assistance and the phone wasn't answered. Eventually someone did arrive at reception but went straight into the back office and was talking to someone in there for at least 15 minutes (dispite us knocking on the door)before returning to reception to check us in. By which time there was a queue. This was really our only criticism.
