Haweswater Hotel

Food was first class, well presented and explained by the waiter. My Beof Bourgingnon was well cooked and tender but needed a little more red wine and seasoning. The style they had tried to set is well done but a little maintenance . All in, it was apleasnt experience.

Bath ands shower were bad to enter for my wife as she has a back problem at the moment and the bath in the next door room could be loudly heard when the water was running into it . Loud drumming which made the TV difficult to hear.

There is nothing not to like about this hotel

Location on Haweswater Dam is exceptional and it has lovely views. The interior is authentically honest to its 1937 build year. The breakfast was very good. Shower had good pressure and hot. Convenient parking at lower level.

Our room was right next to the fire door on the landing so was noisy. Room was small and not particularly well equipped with nowhere to sitor write. Bar options lacked any keg or cask. New staff were cheerful but coming up to speed which made things slower and sub optimal; I had to give the recipe for a martini! Signature chef leftvthe weekend before so things were in turmoil.

The location was excellent and the food was of a very high quality. The hotel was very clean and the majority of staff very good, with only a few exceptions.

The service for Dinner on the Mon night of our stay was very poor, disppointing, considering how good it had been the previous night(different waitering staff). We waited 15 mins for our breakfast order to be taken on the 2nd morning and waited 35 mins for the food to arrive.

It was beautiful and I really enjoyed the decor of the hotel. It was clean and spacious and didn't feel overwhelmed with guests. The staff were so friendly and really enjoyed having a chat with them whilst we stayed there. I would absolutely come here again - it was the perfect birthday trip for my Fiancé!

Parking and no EV charge point

Everything, absolutely everything, the staff were exceptional and all really happy and you could tell they wanted to be there! The setting was incredible and food was an absolutely amazing experience! Credit to the chef and his team! We will be back! couldn’t rate this higher! Thankyou team and thankyou for the kind birthday card for the wife!

Location is amazing, food and cocktails were fab, staff friendly and the room was gorgeous.

Wish we had stayed another night.
