Newton Hall

The paths between the main house and the "Garden Rooms" was made up of large stones which caused damage to my wife's shoes. The response from reception was that there was nothing they could do about it! No real sympathy. The "Breakfast to go" option was very poor while the alternative was a walk to a nearby pub. The breakfast there was very good.

Stayed in the garden rooms but main property beautiful and reception staff welcoming and friendly. I have only ever stayed in the main house before.

Given keys to a room which was filthy and hadn’t been cleaned. Eventually moved us to a different room but didn’t get an apology. Garden rooms are not private - people walking past can see you sitting in the garden. Breakfast is not served at the venue which was not made clear at the time of booking. It is served at the local pub which is a 10 minute walk away.

Room was very small for the price. Very disappointed that the breakfast wasn’t at Newton Hall but the Joiners Arms Inn. One of main reasons was to be close to wedding party including breakfast times. Room itself is not worth the money you charge , the safe didn’t work, rooms floor wasn’t cleaned between nights stay and generally just a bit too small overall for two people.

Great location, attended a wedding night party, the hall is beautiful, party room great.

We stayed in a garden room which we were told on arrival we had been upgraded to a larger room but no jacuzzi which we accepted, there was a jacuzzi but not working, 3 other members of family staying were told the same and all jacuzzi's were not in working order, very disappointing. Grass area could of done with a tidy up, gravel path looked very nice but impossible to walk on in high heals, given that your more than likely to be dressed up for a venue in the Hall. It was a short walk to The Joiners Arms for breakfast as informed, just a shame the caravan park that you cut through looked run down. We had a takeaway the night before from Joiners Arms as they had no table available for 6 people, we had to take it back as portion size was ridiculously small for the price we paid, after being told that's what a portion is they did agree to give us more, they added a few more chips... very disappointed. We did have breakfast next morning when asked if could have plane yoghurt as non left in bowl answer was a strict "no" We all ordered a cooked breakfast which we all enjoyed. Overall very expensive to stay, if attended a venue again would stay somewhere else.

Staff and venue for the wedding was great. Food excellent. Garden rooms stylish but not very practical. Hotel tub fabulous addition.

Bit of a walk to Joiners Arms for breakfast. Unable to join rest of wedding party for breakfast in the main house because we were in the garden rooms. Garden rooms lovely but felt cramped. No full length mirror - pretty important part of the room when attending a wedding?!

The location, maim house and grounds were lovely.

The garden room we stayed in felt like a caravan that had been clad. The hot tub we were looking forward to using was not working. The room had been poorly thought out with random and efficient lighting. The floor near the sink was unstable and wobbled so much you felt you would fall through it at any moment. There was no appropriate mirror or adequate lighting for my partner to use. It was very expensive for the quality of accommodation. The bar prices were also extortionate, much higher than London !
