There are not many cheap options inside Tayrona park and I didn’t want to sleep in a hammock so this option was better. The guy was nice and helpful, the ladies of the kitchen were more reserved. You feel like in the middle of the jungles which is great! Bed had a bug net which worked perfect! Make sure you take some hair clips to close it so that the fan doesn’t open it. I wasn’t bothered by bugs at all (at that was my priority!). We were able to shower before water ran out and it was nice. Dinner was served an hour and a half late cause they had issues with water. Next morning water was still not in so the toilets were “stuffed”. Dinner was really yummy.

No electricity from 6am to 5pm. So very hot cabana in the day. Food was inconsistent, had to go to another restaurant as no food the second night. The generator kept me awake until very late, too noisy.

Some water dripping from the roof during heavy downpour (only 1 spot though). But then, it can be expected when sleeping in this environment, just place your luggage accordingly. Bed was a bit small for me

Beautiful small lodge just off the main road in the park. Great views of the surroundings - you wake up to the sounds of birds - and see the sierra nevada mountains - beautiful. Top Service - the guys really took good care of me. The small puppy was so cute and they have also carrots. The lemongrass tea that grow on the property was delicious. Got a vegan breakfast with lots of fruit and a delicious tea.

The rooms are very basic and only have a bed, a table and a chair (no storage space etc). It looked a bit shabby. Don't expect much comfort. Spoke to the owner about his extension plans incl. Pool and it was nice to hear and to support this project. There was no mosquito net. No restaurant on site for dinner but there are a few places in walking distance Wifi worked in restaurant but not in room Generator was on during night and quite loud. No electricity at night.

If you are a birdwatcher and visit Tayrona, you would love this place. Birds were everywhere outside our room. Host was also very accommodating. He bought park tickets for us, picked us up from the airport and dropped us off in Minca after our stay (with a reasonable fee). Good communication. The communal shower/bathroom was clean. Even though there was no hot water, it didn’t feel cold at all, unlike in Minca. Breakfast and Dinner were also good. Would highly recommend it and stay there again.

The park is good but the hotel is so poorly managed

This hotel is the worst hotel I have ever stayed in my life. It was dirty, I found cockroaches in the bed!! The bed collapsed, the service so poor. Everything wrong!! All the bedrooms are in the same conditions, so disgusting. I wouldn't recommend to stay here. Please don't go there! Avoid this place, the pictures don't correspond to the real situation.

The location was fantastic - right in the middle of the forest. The owners were really friendly and we loved Max!
