Beautiful location near Warkworth Castle. Old coaching inn. Food served on site by friendly staff. Great breakfast. Easy and free parking in the square outside. Lovely walk along Coquet river. Comfortable bed. We didn't have an ensuite room but dressing gowns were provided and the bathroom was just across the corridor. Hot and effective shower. Pretty church in the village. Short drive to the station at Alnmouth for trains to Edinburgh and Newcastle. Easy access to the Northumberland coastal route and various castles and excellent beaches.

Quite a busy road so you need to be mindful when crossing with children or the elderly. Traffic may be a bit noisy in the mornings so you may need earplugs. Our room had a glazed panel above door onto corridor so light comes through. A mask may help eliminate this. My elderly mother's room didn't have this panel though and she had a very comfortable stay with ensuite shower room, which was ideal for her.

Right in the middle of the village, With public parking nearby. Staff were very friendly. It was also quite cheap. Azure. You ask?

Basically this is a pub with rooms. Don't expect anything too fancy, complicated, or upscale. My room had all the basics, and they all worked. The shower was a basic electric model. There is a fair bit of Rd noise on and off through the night, with no double glazing. It was a warm day, and there is no air conditioning. Breakfast boards. Basically a full English breakfast, or any part of it. You could also have cornflakes. It was quite basic.

Great team at the hermitage inn and very hard working...Great music on the night of 2year celebration 🍾 super breakfast...lots of nice customers.I wish them all the very best.
