Hotel Brunette

The staff, food, location, all excellent. Street parking was easy to find and drinking water was provided. A/C worked well in the private room.

We were expecting the noise from the church bells, street traffic, random dogs, etc. Did not expect the rooster next door to crow every few minutes, all hours of everyday. Not a problem while hanging out on premise. Our first night, we got no sleep. We recommend ear plugs and white noise.

The only good aspect was the central location

This is a hostel with hotel prices. A hotel with no hot water? Nobody would think about looking for such a basic amenity - I traveled a lot and that is not something I have seen in Central America before. It should be clear on the hotel description. Actually this place should be described as a HOSTEL. Many years ago someone cared enough about converting this colonial house into a funky hotel - who ever that person was they are gone. Rooms are badly maintained, everything is kind of falling apart, in the whole hotel. Dirty, the floors in the room were really disgusting, didn’t get a good cleaning in a long time. The room had 2 air fresheners on automatic puffing strongly in the room. We asked to turn them off since the smell was way too strong and realized that the reason they are there is to camouflage the sewage smell that comes from the drain in the bathroom - that has a wall opening into the room. Not a window, just a weird opening. Very disappointing. If we wanted to stay in a hostel we would booked one - and would have paid much less. Breakfast was very small with the cheapest products (like an imitation of ham and old bread, nothing to spread on the bread). I don’t recommend this place.

Very loud with the church bells

The staff were great, very helpful and friendly. The common areas are nice, well decorated and comfortable. Breakfast included was also a bonus.

The mattresses are uncomfortable and the dorm rooms cramped. My first room was full of mosquitos and I woke up with >50 bites. The staff were helpful and moved us to the other dorm after lots of discussion (they did not want to mix male & female even though the dorms are advertised as mixed). Ultimately, I wouldn't stay here for a dorm, only a private room to be honest. It is not the staff, just facilities & unwanted biting guests!!

I do not have to mention about the location..It is a minutes away from the catedral...beside that everything was greater than I had expected、especially the service and the food!All the staffs(especially Jonathan)were always attentive and very helpful.When it comes to the food, we can choose the main from the menu and it always comes in a big portion! I highly recommend this hotel!

Fantastic location just around corner from cathedral. Lovely bar there. Clean. Staff were helpful.
