Hotel La Rana de Arenal

Outstanding location, with beautiful, well tended grounds and a great view of Lake Arenal. Lots of flowers and birds. The breakfast was tasty and complete, wirh a view of the grounds and the lake.

The room didn't have air conditioning, and the fan was barely adequate for the afternoon heat. While the bathroom was roomy, there was black mold in the shower, so I didn't use it. Also the lights at night were too weak.

Room has maintenance issues, a few bulbs are burned out and the fan makes excessive noise and is unusable.

The room was not very comfortable, mattresses are not that good and the washroom's door was very noisy.

It's an exceptionally beautiful location with nature all around. If you're looking for a place to stop and view birds with a great view over Lake Arenal, then this is definitely your place. The food was OK but nothing special. The room was small but clean and comfortable, quite acceptable for the price. The staff were friendly enough.

The downside of the location is that it's quite remote, I wouldn't recommend it if you don't have your own vehicle as there's only a few buses and taxis can get expensive. Despite being advertised as having WiFi, I couldn't get a signal inside the room. You will get a signal outside or in the restaurant, but that wasn't always convenient for me. The walls are quite thin, especially to the restaurant above, I found in the evening when I wanted to relax that I was a bit disturbed by voices and the movement of chairs directly above my head. No fresh fruits for juices or smoothies.

Incredibly comfortable beds and pillows! Definitely the best night sleep I had on vacation. You would never think that this quiet simple Hotel could have such luxurious beds. The hotel itself is quiet and simple, the rooms are a little on the small side but have everything you need, and the restaurant served a delicious traditional breakfast. The staff are some of the best! They showed genuine care and were quick to offer help with driving directions and sites to see. The pricing for such great service and comfort is incredible value for money. I highly recommend staying here if just to get the best night sleep ever!

rooms I would say they are a little small but the value for money and comfort of the bed in addition to the flawless cleanlines, more than compensate for this.

This property has very nice views of the lake. The owner from Germany is very friendly and accommodating, I booked last minute the last available room. The restaurant on site is very convenient as well. Great value for money.
