1- My bracelet got stolen from my side table. 2- No Internet in the rooms 3- No telephone is the rooms for room service you need to go down to the reception. 4- My toilet was full of frogs and my room had a few lizards. 5- Hot shower had no pressure. 6- And for those who are going for kite surfing.. surfing is not allowed in front of the beach you have to take a taxi and go to the designated areas.

Located on the beach. Rooms are small bungalows. We were upgraded to a large room with 2 double beds. My dad had the unit above us. His balcony was nicer just because it caught the breeze better. 2 pools! Staff was very friendly. Breakfast was great!

No one in reception when we came. Had to go looking for them. Understaffed? Lot of flies coming into the open air restaurant from the beach. Bathroom is pretty rough.

We originally agreed for a discount on the kite surf gear because it was off season and no one was using it. I retend two times the kite surf gears. The bars were already broken (two days in a row, different bar !) It made me loose a lot of time. If you rent some equipment there, don’t expect it to be functioning. You have to check by yourself. They didn’t want to make a discount for this inconvenience. So I don’t recommend for kite surf but for the rest it was good.

The Horizon resort is run locally by very helpful staff. They were always available for questions and support. They supported in arranging our transport from Colombo to there and back as well as a day trip to Anuradhapura as well as a dolphin tour. The food and atmosphere was great. the rooms were very comfortable and the setting feels natural : with the cabins/rooms being placed around the trees, plenty of birds and squirrels around. Open bathrooms also make it feel natural. Another great point is that big water station is available to top up your water bottle + still provide water plastic bottle as well.

We had a room booking issue, but it was resorted well in the end. for people afraid of Dogs: 2-3 Well-fed and clean dogs roam around the property (not in rooms of course), but they are very kind and calm. Also the resort clearly instructs not to feed the dogs, so they have NOT adopted any begging behaviour etc. Please note that the room that we initially had (not our planned room), the 'Deluxe Family Suite(s) ' do not have a real sea view, as the view is obstructed by the laundry building AND smell from the kitchen is very noticeable on your balcony.

Staff was absolutely amazing and made us feel very welcomed. They took excellent care of us throughout out our stay, helped with anything we needed, and made us laugh every day. Rooms were really nice, two pools and the quiet location right at the beach, top moch. And the food was delicious!

A beautiful hotel on the beech with excellent cottages / villas . Very friendly staff and a good restaurant on the premises.

Wifi in the room was not good but the wifi in restaurant was good .
