Mantis Akagera Game Lodge

Located inside Akagera Game Park in a beautiful location. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and comfortable with lots of hot water (great when you have a dusty day seeing wildlife in the park). Food was very good. Pool very welcome at the end of the day. Fantastic views from the bar area. And cosy fire-pit in the evening. A great place to stay to get the most out of your safari!

Lunch service was a little slower than promised, but only a minor thing.

L'endroit est superbe, calme et reposant. Nous avions choisi la suite et nous n'avons pas été déçus ! Le personnel est accueillant, souriant et serviable. La vue sur le lac est incroyable et tout est de très bon goût dans la décoration des espaces.

Le seul point vraiment négatif pour nous a été un manque de communication concernant l'animation qui a eu lieu le vendredi soir pour laquelle personne ne nous a averti et à laquelle nous aurions adoré assister. Un mot aurait pu être laissé dans les chambres des résidents indiquant qu'une animation locale allait avoir lieu à l'espace bar en précisant l heure de début pour que les gens aient la possibilité de s'y rendre. C'est le bruit en sortant de notre chambre à 20h passée qui nous a alerté et nous sommes arrivés quand le spectacle se terminait...J'étais dans une colère noire et j'en ai fait part au personnel et en partant de l'établissement le lendemain. Vraiment quel dommage !!

Il lodge é bellissimo, e si trova all'interno del parco di Akagera. Le stanze sono spaziose e ben curate, la pulizia impeccabile, i letti molto comodi. Ottimo il buffet a colazione.

Il lodge è situato in una posizione bellissima, ma purtroppo la nostra esperienza culinaria non è stata all’altezza delle aspettative. La cena era disponibile solo a buffet al costo di 35 USD, a cui volevano aggiungere anche 1 USD di “servizio” (il che sembra poco giustificato per un buffet). Per quanto comodo per il ristorante, il buffet non è una soluzione ideale per il cliente, perché obbliga a spendere necessariamente la cifra richiesta anche solo per uno snack, dato che, essendo il lodge nel parco, per ovvie ragioni è l’unica opzione disponibile. Il cibo era caro rispetto alla qualità, pochissime le opzioni vegane, contrariamente a quanto abbiamo trovato in altri ristoranti durante le tre settimane di viaggio, e nessuna proposta particolarmente appetibile. Addirittura (mai successo durante la nostra permanenza in Rwanda) anche la frutta era insapore e per di piú servita a temperatura ambiente. Detto ciò, abbiamo molto apprezzato che, di fronte alle mie lamentele, uno dei due pasti ci sia stato offerto dal ristorante. Abbiamo gradito molto questo gesto, che ha reso l’esperienza complessiva un po’ più positiva. Un altro punto negativo è stata la richiesta di 19 USD aggiuntivi per “conservation fees” al momento del check-out, che non erano indicati da nessuna parte al momento della prenotazione. Sarebbe utile che il lodge fosse più trasparente riguardo a questi costi.

The room was spotless and spacious, with a great bed and a beautiful balcony view. In the evenings, I highly recommend sitting by the outdoor fireplace near the pool to enjoy the night sky and the sounds of the safari, it’s truly magical. I would also recommend this hotel for its very convenient location, just 1–2 minutes from the Akagera Park reception, where all safari activities begin.

As refeições são excelentes. Embora os custos sejam um pouco altos. Mas vale muito a pena.

Sem dúvida, os preços. No mais, tudo é muito bom!
