Surfing Temple Boutique Hotel

Terrible location. We literally flipped a trikey trying to get there. No amenities, food was ok. Overall not worth the price.... not even half the price really. Or stay elsewhere was half the price and twice the place.

Love the place! Second time i stay at this Hotel. The place is so beautiiful with bungalows sorrounded by a tropical garden and a great pool, super well decorated and really good food and drinks, like the delicious breakfast options. They have the best bed i’ve ever been, super comfortable! Great location very near the famous surf spots and such a welcoming staff that makes you feel in paradise. Super quiet neighbourhood area to relax.

The property is so lovely, really modern, cool place, so beautifully green. Loved all about it.

Very friendly staff and clean cabanas! Aesthetically pleasing and really lives up to the jungle vibes! Great touches on decor here and there - and we really liked how convenient our room was furnished. The food is also great. Breakfast is from 7:30, but as one of our mornings we had a planned tour with pick up 7:30 - they were able to prepare our breakfast before!!! They even knocked on our door at 7, just to take our order, so when we came out our breakfast was ready! Reception staff were really friendly and service minded! Especially the guy (unfortunately, I don’t remember his name :( ) - he was by the reception the most of our stay! He was really accommodating and even helped us one night to get a trike by the hotel because I couldn’t walk through the bumpy road with heels on (haha.) He drove his own scooter to the main road to catch us a trike! It’s only a 8-minute drive from/to town! And approx. 2 km from Cloud 9!!

As other guests also have mentioned…. Unfortunately the bumpy and very rocky road leading up to the hotel from the main road. When reading the other reviews about this - I thought to myself: how bad could it be haha? But I really disliked walking to the property from the main road when it got dark, as not all trikes would wanna drive you to the front of the hotel - because they didn’t want to drive on the rocky road… there is no street light, so you would have to walk with flashlight from ex. your phone. I will say that the walk from the main road to the hotel is only a couple of minutes! But some lights would already help a lot! However, some of the trike drivers is willing to drive you in front of the property - but you would have to kindly ask (and of course they would charge more). Fares would approximately be: From town (General Luna) to drop off before the rocky road - approx. 100-150 pesos From town (General Luna) to the front of the hotel - approx. 300 pesos Also, I found myself looking for a place to dry my wet swimwear - I let it out to dry on top of the chairs by the door room, but it didn’t seem to dry and it actually just left a stain from the oil on the chairs onto my swimwear.

The staff were so friendly and accommodating. The free breakfast from their menu was delicious. The smoothie bowl was my favorite. The chef even came in early one day so she can cook our breakfast even before the restaurant open because our tour pick up was early. I liked the tropical feel of the hotel and the outside shower was a plus. The hotel style is more like a villa.

The street going to the location has lots of potholes. And the street was flooded but was not the hotel's fault. The city officials neglected the property owners in that area's plea for the road to be fixed and per the hotel owner they were willing to share in fixing the road. But nothing is being done by the city officials. I will stay in this hotel again if they fix the road.
