Villa Lu Amazon Ecolodge es un auténtico oasis en plena naturaleza. Desde el primer momento se siente la paz, la calma y la conexión con la selva. El entorno es precioso, rodeado de verde, silencio y buena energía. El personal es simplemente maravilloso: amable, cercano, atento y siempre con una sonrisa. Te hacen sentir en casa y cuidan cada detalle con muchísimo cariño. La comida es increíble: productos frescos, bien preparados y deliciosos. Las habitaciones son cómodas, limpias y acogedoras, y las zonas comunes invitan a relajarse sin prisas. Es el lugar perfecto para desconectar, descansar y respirar profundo. Un sitio al que dan ganas de volver. Totalmente recomendado para quienes buscan naturaleza, tranquilidad y una experiencia auténtica en Tarapoto.

Summary: don’t stay here: it is constantly loud, dirty, bugs in the bed, awful food, and are SUPER overpriced and dishonest about their pricing - they WILL try to scam you with a higher exchange rate than anywhere else in Tarapoto. I came here after backpacking in Peru for two months. This stay was meant to be a peaceful moment of rest after a chaotic trip. It was far from it— There is constant construction going on here, and at night when the construction noise finally stops the sounds of dogs barking and motorcycles never ends. Most of the rooms only have screen windows - no glass - so you can’t block out the noise. It makes it impossible to sleep. When I said something they offered to switch me from my suite with a king bed into a normal room with a double bed but said it was the same price. There were tons of small bugs in the bed. I had been in Peru, I am used to bugs, but I was petrified they were bed bugs, they were everywhere. The food was awful. Flavorless and overpriced compared to in town. The walk into town takes more like 30 minutes and is all uphill. To get a mototaxi from here, you need to order it through the front desk. They charge you double what mototaxis in town charge to get back! It is a senseless money grab. This hotel is also incredible dishonest about pricing, they offer a high exchange rate that is different than literally every other shop, hotel, and restaurant in Tarapoto. At the front desk when I paid for this night, THEY CHARGED ME MORE THAN ADVERTISED HERE ON BOOKING. This als applied to food and taxi services. When I said something, they apologized but I’m sure they are still doing this to countless guests who haven’t noticed. The pool is also disgustingly dirty. If you’re looking for somewhere quiet and nice to stay with a beautiful pool, great food, and happens to be half the price, stay at La Patarascha. It’s where I moved to and I highly recommend it.

The property is beautiful, gently fitting into the natural environment that surrounds it. The rooms are lovely, large and comfortable. The staff are genuinely kind and caring. Even with the language barrier we shared many laughs. The food is exceptional.
