Kao Feng Hotel

Nothing really great about this hotel.

The hotel itself is nothing special at all. Breakfast is provided off site at a canteen location. The food was of mediocre quality. The hotel location requires some significant up and down hill walking which can be difficult with luggage. To be honest most hotels here have the same issue, but other hotels seem to be picking up and dropping their customers to the train station. We had to walk and the staff made no effort to advise if they can help. Room itself was fine but way over priced for the quality, but this appears to be the same for most hotels in this area.

Location is too good to reach toy train station/zhaoping station . Very near to forest recreation area.

I didn't like the hotel breakfast for which you need to walk 10 mins from hotel and room size congested for 4 ppl . Also hot water supply is not good. There was no restaurant in the hotel and we were just heating our food .

we choose this hotel because it’s location. it’s a 10 minutes walk from Alishan train station. Parking is free. we parked our car at the hotel and used the train and walking to get around the park. Although it shows its ages, the room and beds are comfortable. Beds are electrically heated with a dial control. That makes it easier to deal with room without a heater in a cold night. And front desk provides helpful recommendations about touring the park.

It’s an old style hotel with outdated rooms.

The room was big and relatively clean. Just outdated but it's fine. It was a last minute booking for us so we didn't have a lot of options. We've read some pretty bad reviews so we expected the worst. The staff was nice though. Note that you DO need tickets for breakfast even though the man at the reception desk says you don't. He just doesn't understand 😂

The beds were SO hard. It's s really really loud and noisy there, you can here every movement of your neighbors. Don't expect a good night rest if you sleep here. Also we had to go for a mosquito hunt before bedtime. And very expensive.

Old, very hard beds, terrible breakfast outside of the hotel, the walls do not isolate any noise, a bit smelly. The staff did not make the agreed wake up call.

Great location. Had luggage storage and free shuttle to bus station. Breakfast was traditional Taiwan breakfast.

Bathroom has signs of mildew. Typical Alishan hotel, hasn’t been upgraded in decades! Right rooms. I wish they were able to do a train pick up but I wasn’t able to get ahold of them ahead of time.

The location was fantastic. It was amazing to be able to stay inside the park itself, and to be so close to the rail station and walking trails. The staff were also very friendly and helpful, and the facilities were accessible.

The shower was a bit temperamental, and got cold quickly. Some of the buttons for the TV didn’t work.

The previous reviews do not do justice to this hotel, as after reading them I expected something medium level, therefore, I was very surprised to find a good size and quality room - yes the design is outdated, but it was a charm. We made tea in a lovely tea set in the room; the electric blanket was not needed for our visit, but a nice touch. The hotel provided free transport to return to the bus station. Breakfast was simple.
