Morning Dew Boutique Hotel Ella

Fantastisk utsikt! Väldigt trevlig och tillmötesgående personal. God frukost. Fräscht badrum. Det var lite utmanande läge högt uppe på bergstoppen via en brant stig/ väg, men hotellet erbjöd gratis shuttle service med en jeep 4x4 och hjälp med bagage. Vanlig bil klarar inte stigningen.

The room was a good size and great views. Staff in the restaurant were nice and attentive.

The customer service was underwhelming. Reception staff often unhelpful and at times rude. Incredibly overpriced for what was provided. The food was overcooked and cold. Facilities in the room were not working properly. Laundry charges were extortionate. Could not access the pool despite the price we paid as external guests were given priority.

Our room was big and the buffet breakfast was good.

They asked us to cancel our Booking.com booking on arrival and instead pay directly to the hotel. The taxi service they offered us was 3x the price of any other taxi in town. The hotel is actually on a huge hill and means the walk to and from Ella town is made very very difficult, even for us two young people.

Localização pessima. Fica no alto da montanha com acesso dificil por a rua ser muito estreita e ingreme. Somente o carro 4x4 do hotel e alguns tuk tuks contratados do hotel conseguiam subir. Ou seja, vc tem que pegar o carro do hotel para te levar com suas malas para baixo para encontrar com seu motorista ou taxi. Os tuk tuls normais da cidade nao aceitavam fazer a corrida. Apos as 18h o servico de transporte se encerra portanto vc tem q ir a pe. O cafe servido durante o cafe da manhã é ruim

The room was clean.

We really wanted to like this property as one of the more expensive hotels we stayed in in Sri Lanka. On arrival we had to wait half an hour for a lift up the hill with our bags, staying only a couple nights and arriving into Ella late in the afternoon we really wanted to get out and explore so this was less than ideal. The hill is VERY steep on the way up to the hotel so you don’t want to be lugging bags up it. Lifts are only available up until 6pm. When we finally got to the hotel we were asked to cancel the booking on booking.com for them to give us an upgrade probably because the hotel is trying to avoid paying fees. You have to preorder breakfast which was annoying as I’d have liked to just pick what I wanted in the morning. You can hear the noise from town in the rooms even though it’s a bit out of town. There is building work happening directly next to the hotel so it’s not quiet in the daytime either. The water in the shower was only hot in the mornings, it was luke warm at best in the afternoon/evening. There were constant power cuts as well. For the price point we found this hotel a massive disappointment. You can get better views from other cheaper hotels so do your research before booking this hotel. We wish we had not picked this hotel.

Lovely big rooms with amazing views. Great pool with lovely bar with Mountain View’s. Staff were very attentive.

Shower was awful. Either scalding hot or freezing and not powerful. At the top of a very steep hill - not a lot of tuk tuks take you in the rain.

No security after 11pm. Our daughters were locked out of their room and no member of staff available to help. On arrival we were asked to cancel our booking with booking.com in return for credit to be spent at the bar. Food was poor. The dining room was dated. For the money they charge (the most we spent whilst staying in Sri Lanka and by far the worse) we expected much more. Overall we would not recommend. The staff seemed out of their depth. Lots of people complaining in reception.
