GBThe pub
The room was awful. There was a patch of plaster & wallpaper peeling off near the window. The bathroom door wouldn't stay closed (very easy to put a bolt on). The hot tap dripped all night. This has the potential to be a really good room but needs a lot of attention. It's not worth the money (room 5)
GBfantastic hosts to a very enjoyable stay. The Wheatsheaf Inn, Ludlow, is a small very traditional inn with loads of character. A nice bar area welcomes where good food available. good location in the heart of Ludlow. Parking not at the inn though which you understand once there seeing the ancient parts of Ludlow.

Staff were rude and unhelpful. Bedroom was very small. No shampoo or body wash in the shower. Carpet’s threadbare.

GBGBGreat inn with excellent food and lovely friendly staff. It's built against the Medieval Broadgate into Ludlow Old Town and overlooks the picturesque residential street down to the river. While chatting with the staff, we had the tastiest vegiburgers I can remember (eating in a pub or inn anywhere). And we were able to.order them on the day (not in advance) though some items sell out and it's popular (so advanced booking is suggested).
In the ideal world, the Inn would have air conditioning because it can really get hot upstairs (but we happened to visit on the hottest ever British day in May--heat usually won't be a major problem). An unavoidable practical problem is parking. Parking within 500 metres of the Wheatsheaf requires a miracle. So, because it's on a hill, lighter bags (not suitcases) are recommended.
GBGBThe location was great, just 10 minutes walk from Ludlow Castle. The staff were lovely and the pub itself was nice.
We stayed in room 5, the mattress on the single bed was too soft, if you went to the edge of the bed you rolled off as it had no strength. The bathroom door. Would not close, so after sitting on the toilet the door would open itself. The hot top dropped all night wasting my sleep and the hot water. Finally the worst every 4 minutes what sounded like a masirator came on... This continued all night... Drip drip drip ... Suck suck crunch crunch. Worst night sleep ever.
