GBGBFriendly lady behind the bar but working alone and obviously couldn’t solve problems with the room.
The room was expensive with no breakfast and had no WiFi or working bathroom light. There was no window in the bathroom so the door had to be propped open…embarrassing when sharing a twin bedded room. The light was not fixed although mentioned immediately. There was no offer of compensation.
GBGBGBWe were made to feel so welcome ! Karen & Steve ànd son George are exceptional hosts. Thé facilities ànd location are super ànd thé ambiance at The Wheatsheaf is second to none. We loved our short stay and hope to return soon! It was a genuine pleasure to stay at this lovely pub.

Very disappointed to discover that we couldn’t get back into the property late! We were told we had to be back by 12.00 midnight which was a real shame as we’d gone to see our friend in a show at the theatre and we couldn’t spend much time with her! Never known a property charging that much not to have a coded door or an outside key for residents! If I’d known we wouldn’t have booked but the info is not on ‘Booking’ or their website! Some parts looked tired, threadbare carpet, no lamp shade, broken bed base and loo roll holder….
