Price, comfortable bed, the pool was pretty nice other than the cigarette in it.

The bathroom was gross, the wifi only worked when the office was open 8am -5pm. Room was supposed to be ocean view but it was not. The TVs did not work in any of our rooms (we booked 2). And the AC was motion sensored we think because it shut off when we were sleep.

We had a wonderful stay at Home Sweet Home. If you don't like big resorts, stay here! It's nothing fancy, but has comfortable, clean rooms, a nice little pool area, and plenty of places to lounge in the sun. You can use the ladder off of the rocks to get right in the sea and snorkel. The hotel manager, Tina, is very helpful and makes you feel right at home. You can walk to a number of small bars and restaurants, but be careful since there is no sidewalk along the road.

Restaurant wait times were long and prices were high.

We stayed in room 16. We paid for one night originally and ended up staying 5 nights. The owner Charlie is very accommodating and friendly. He has a wonderful woman named Tina working reservations and front desk and she has great tips for day trips and sights to see on the island. Her father Chris runs tours from the property and we took a few trips with him. You won’t find a kinder and safer person to drive around with, he was super knowledgeable and down to earth. Room 16 has views and sunsets right from the balcony and you won’t want to leave when you get there. We jumped from the cliffs every day and couldn’t drag ourselves to the beach because the property was so beautiful. We had a small kitchen with a stove, fridg and microwave to prepare meals if we felt like staying on the property. Shower had hot water and the cleaning service was very good. If you are going to Negril and want a relaxed experience without the frills of an all inclusive, this is the place to be. The restaurant will provide service, but you need to tell them ahead of time that you want to stay for dinner or they won’t be there if they don’t have enough people to serve. So my suggestion is to buy your beer and some snacks in case they aren’t open. I am so happy I walked into Home Sweet Home to check out the rooms because we ended up changing our vacation plans to just stay there. You won’t be sorry you ended up there. Please take your private tours from Chris on the property because it actually ends up saving you money and time than the tours from the internet. His van is comfortable and he doesn’t rush you if you want to hang out at a place, plus his prices are reasonable for Jamaica. You can walk to a lot of restaurants and town from this west end location as well. Taxis will drive by any time of the day out front as well. This was our first trip to Jamaica and Negril is the place to be. Other towns and cities on the island can’t compare to the beauty of Negril. This location is quiet and safe. No rowdy parties like the beach area, you will get your sleep.
