Royal Palace

After the issue with the breakfast buffet (and writing a bad comment on Facebook), the staff popped up to our room and handed out the envelope with cash as a refund for prepaid breakfast.

Very bad attitude of the staff, one of the worst I have ever experienced. Barely speak English, and once they make mistake they blame the customer (they didn't hear the room number told a few times and imposed that we said a different room number). And once I wanted to explain it, they didn't let me finish. The breakfast is served only until 9 am, which is a joke in a tourist city, where people come to rest. On most days there is no breakfast buffet (only a la carte), but the staff is unable to explain it (we went down for breakfast at 8.30, and the buffet area was empty already, which looked like they cleaned it already), which makes confusion among guests. They apply 3% charge if you pay by credit card, which has never happened to me in this class of hotel. We stayed on the 5th floor, but the window over there was very little, on the top of the wall, we had a feeling like staying in the basement.

Excellent location about ten minutes from the central lake. Spacious and pleasant room with very good bathroom. Friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast was perfectly alright even though we were in the very quiet part of the year. ( slightly confusing on Booking.com regarding breakfast included search very easily allowing a non-inclusive booking but easily remedied by paying for breakfasts at checkin time).

No problems at all. Be aware that a standard room does not have a window, but there would only have been a view of a side street anyway. If you want a window, book a superior room.

ordered a taxi to hotel in Mui Ne through hotel, got quote, paid hotel. an hour into our trip got call saying price was more, pay driver. we did not. hotel phoned back and everything ok. travel costs higher than north Vietnam. other than this hotel was good and would stay again

On a street brimming with similar looking hotels, Royal Palace stands above the others. The property looks new (or very well renovated), clean and safe. The beds are large, warm and very comfortable. The shower is spacious with good pressure. The room is also spacious and warm. The breakfast, while quite limited, was tasty. And one can walk to the city centre through DaLat Palace which is a nice walk.

The fridge emits a very bright blue light that we had to try to block in order to sleep at night. Perhaps there is an easy way to turn off the light, but we couldn't figure it out. The lobby furniture is rather garish but in keeping with the theme.
