The Stump Cross inn

The room was of a good standard and comfortable. The pub offers real ale and good food. The location is across the road from Shibden Park, and on the bus route for central Halifax. The rooms are above a pub, and on a main road, but we weren't disturbed by the noise. We would certainly stay again.

The out of hours access to the room is via the fire escape, which was fine for us as we are fairly nimble.

Convenient location for where we were going and fair price

It’s a lovely place great place to eat, nice homely room. Very central to many places to visit.

It’s a nice pub and it has a very good restaurant the Sunday carvery was fantastic. We had a nice cosy room and a well appointed ensuite bathroom. It was a little dated but the bed was comfy , with a kettle for making a coffee.

Location

It was not clean, dated, very noisy, the shower tray was blocked so when I had a shower it flooded the bathroom, no attention to detail the coffee and tea bowl looked like it had been left from previous occupant

Round the clock access

shower blocked so during a shower your standing in a pool of water. Traffic noise is bad, so from 1am to 6am is a window where teh traffic is light and can try and get some sleep. TV is a waste as everything requires a login .. the room is very old and dated and even the toilet seat is either too small for the fitting and very loose.

The staff could not do enough during our stay. The pub is warm friendly and good value. The food was great we ate at breakfast and on one evening. We will return.

As for being a deluxe room - well even the windows didn’t open and it stunk of foist

Staff were lovely - very friendly and helpful. Location is very convenient and room was cosy. Felt very safe as a solo traveller. Restaurant was nice with lots of choice.

Quite noisy as next to a main road, and thin curtains didn't really block out the streetlights at all.

The location was perfect for visiting Shibden Hall and Halifax town centre. We were able to hop on a bus into town from the bus stop directly opposite the pub and returning from town was quick and easy too. All of the staff were super friendly and attentive and our room was warm, clean and very comfortable. We had our evening meal at the pub and the food was excellent. They also had my favourite beer on (Neck Oil!). We would happily stay at The Stump Cross Inn again.
