Collingwood Hotel

Quiet neighbourhood, slept well. Near the beach but no crowds.

Wifi not always working well in the top floor.

Friendly owner. Good location.

The internet access was spotty

It was clean. Bed was comfy

A bit dated. Paint scratched off doorways. The shower was cold and the owner said I had used it the wrong time of the day. I paid £50 cash deposit which I didn’t get back. My daughter got tan on the sheets so understood about paying for that but I was told new sheets would cost £27 but was refused the other £20 back. No other damage was made. He just said he didn’t give a damn.

Nothing bad to say

The Collingwood is very good for public transport services, both bus and tram. In addition there is a tram stop adjacent to the train station. If you are not using a car this makes for very little effort to carry suitcases etc. The hotel was very quiet eventhough fully occupied. I felt welcomed on arrival with Franco explaining everything to me. I was very pleasantly surprised to obtain a double bed for single occupancy. This can be very hard to obtain. In addition, there was an option for a cooked breakfast . The breakfast was very good value for money and cooked individually, not kept warm under heat lamps. Thank you to all the family.

Decent sized room and bed. The bed was comfy. The room was nice and clean. Small En suite shower room and sink but it was ok and I'm a big fella. Soap was provided by the sink. Clean towels a bit small but fine. I didn't try the coffee but they had Tetley tea bags. Breakfast was sausage bacon beans mushroom tomato and toast with tea or coffee. Cereals and apple/orange juice were available. Friendly hosts. Overall a great stay. Excellent value for money. I would recommend and certainly stay again.
