Hoshi no Sato

Cute little place to stay quietly in the mountains. The host was lovely, so considerate and accommodating. A yummy breakfast of toast and boiled eggs was a surprising bonus, as well as the onsen on site for guests to use, so relaxing! The place was super clean and had everything you needed. Would stay again!

The room was big and the service was excellent. Breakfast was simple but yummy. Use of the onsen was almost like having your own private onsen. There is a tag outside the onsen to indicate if the onsen is currently in use and thus unavailable.

The hotel was a challenge to get to, not sure if it was a Google map/gps navigation issue. Would be useful if there were more signposts along the way.

Amazing friendly and helpful staff! They even carry your luggage up to your room. Upon arrival, they texted information about their place. Communication is Japanese only. Loved the choice of indoor or outdoor private onsen. Rooms are very spacious, with free wifi and free breakfast (toast, egg, coffee, or tea) in the morning. Good value for money!

One of the sweetest hostess I have ever met. Willing to go out of her way to help us. The hotel is not new anymore but she is so engaged that fills any gap the hotel might have. There is an onsen you can use privately at no charge and breakfast was also included in the price. The room was quite big for japanese standards. Highly recommended!

The onsen outside in a covered outhouse and light continental breakfast was the highlight. The room was comparatively large as well.

The room was a little stuffy and was about a 5-10 walk from the main Kirishima Onsen village center. I would recommend a flashlight at night since there are no dedicated pedestrian sidewalks.
