Hotel Casa Barrocco Oaxaca

The hotel was a huge disappointment. They charged an additional $300 pesos per room to check in early, even though rooms were ready. Electrical problems in each room. Expensive compared to other very nice hotels in the neighborhood. NO concerierge service or help with food.

Customer service was awful.

Great location, very walkable. Staff were helpful and very friendly.

Room was quite small, with no chair. Only place to sit was the bed. Luckily, there were sitting areas in the courtyard.

It was a beautiful lay out and good location! The staff were very accommodating and let us leave our suitcases for the day after we’d checked out.

I don't understand why they offer a deluxe room if these are smaller than standard. Don't select deluxe is worse than standard., the space in the bathroom is super small. When I rent this hotel, it was in a sale that they put on the web and when you arrive, they keep saying you paid less than the rate. Because of this they don't treat you equally.

The location is perfect, close to most attractions, easy to reach from the airport by shared taxi. The building is a historic house in the city center and is visibly well maintained architecturally. The furniture in the room was in style with the architecture, making it a nice continuation from the outside spaces. The daily cleaning service was good, changing bins and towels regularly.

The room we stayed in was located on the ground floor with a tiny window facing the reception. If we closed the window it was completely dark even in the middle of the day. The internal lights were very bright with white bulbs yet insufficient, there was no central lightning. One had to stay with the window open also because of the humidity inside the room. The bathroom was very tiny, and the shower door would only open one way forcing you to turn the water while you were inside (and it took a quite long time for water to turn warm). In addition, the bathroom ceiling had mold on it, which could have been removed. It looked like the hotel was ran by very junior staff, very kind and polite, but not very helpful when asked for advice.

The room was clean. It was in a good location from which to wander the city.

Our room had only a small window opening to the courtyard, so you must keep the curtains pulled. There are only 3 small bulbs 'lighting' the room. It was so dark that we had to use our phone flashlights to find our things in the room. Unlike the bathroom in the pics, this bathroom was the size of a small closet. The nice glassed-in shown in the pictures shower was actually 1 meter long--a heavy person will have problems getting in and out (the opening is 1/2 of 1 meter) Turning on the water you had to stand out of the shower to avoid being scalded, and the bathroom floor flooded. Also be careful--you could easily scald yourself in the shower. The internet did not cover our room--we had to go out to the public areas. Sadly, even though they showed a nice courtyard, there was no nice seating area. The place seems to be ignored by the owner--the eclectic door locks don't work, and the electronics on the safe don't work either--we were given a key. I wish I had stayed at the hotel reflected in the pics. Kudos to the photographer for their skill--but it sure was disappointing. It's the kind of place that you book that you have to apologize to your wife for. Tough way to start a vacation.

Location was good, staff was friendly.

Needs some upgrades. The mini split A/C did not work all the time. There were parts of the room that needed some wall fixes and paint. Beds are old (mattress) and hard on your back.

The property is on a very good location in the city center.

It’s not a hotel. These are some very modest rooms and no hotel service. We dodn’t have warm water at all in the bathroom, we were taking showers with cold water!!!! You cannot get a coffee at all in the “lobby”, there is no service at all.
