Westlake Village Inn

We were looking for an extra special local getaway and came across the Westlake Village Inn. The accommodations and the grounds were everything we were hoping for. The room was very comfortable and we had a beautiful lake view. Everyone on the staff was so nice, and when they found out I had recently overcome some serious health issues, they even gave me a bottle of champagne! The only thing that keeps me from giving this hotel 5 stars are the restaurants. They were good, but nothing special. I expected more from such a nice hotel.

I booked this for a last minute work trip and wanted to be near the set in Woodland Hills. Most of the hotels I viewed in the area looked pretty bland but this one stood out with some lush photos and amenities. When I arrived, I wasn't sure I was at the right place because it far exceeded expectations! Beautiful, lush property - very Mediterranean feeing with a little vineyard and multiple restaurants on-site. State of the art gym overlooking a nice quiet pool. Room service was quick and delicious. Couldn't be happier I opted for Westlake Village Inn and would like to return for a leisure trip.

Nice hotel it’s not too big or impersonal

This is a great property. Independent hotels can be hit or miss, and I sighed a big sigh of relief after getting into a mini suite King room and found things to be just like the photos and website claimed. It’s a perfect little slice of Tuscany… err… Southern California. It’s not tacky. It stays very clearly on the side of the line of not being themed. (It’s super tasteful, modern, and unobtrusive decor.) But it’s clearly an option if you’ve always wanted a Tuscan themed wedding without the pesky Italy part. Look, sometimes Southern California feels a little like Tuscany. The terra-cotta roofs, the hills, the cypress-esque trees… columns and buildings named after Mediterranean regions... Look. It’s not themed. Stop saying it’s themed. This is not a themed hotel, ok? The place is very nicely appointed and impeccably clean. The grounds truly are absolutely charming. It’s tremendously difficult to maintain a property to this standard: they’re doing an absolutely fantastic job. The staff are also exemplary: welcoming and knowledgeable. They clearly know they have something special here. And not one of them said “Ciao!”. I would have zero hesitation recommending Westlake Village Inn to friends and family. It’s a welcome departure from boring chain hotels, with enough luxury to feel special. I felt a million miles away from home. (Or 11,750 kilometers away, if you’re from Tuscany).
