Four Monkeys Eco Lodge - Jungle & Beach

We very much enjoyed our stay at the lodge. It is a beautiful place!

L'eden me lo immagino così. Circondati a 360 gradi dalla natura. Ara e scimmie urlatrici che fanno da colonna sonora alla vista meravigliosa sul golfo, il tutto cullati dal rumore del mare. Se volete riconnettervi col vostro orologio biologico e dimenticare il cemento urbano, questo è il posto giusto. Qui i ritmi della giornata saranno dettati dalla natura. La struttura è esattamente come descritta, o anche meglio, lodge puliti e distanziati con la giusta privacy, cucina in comune grande per cucinare in tranquillità e al contempo scambiare due chiacchiere con ospiti da tutto il mondo. I proprietari disponibili a illustrare le migliori opportunità per esplorare al meglio il Corcovado. Non è un resort, se cercate eccessive comodità non è il posto per voi (e neanche la zona secondo me); ma se cercate libertà e pace allora non esitate è il posto per voi.

Perfekte Lage, sehr nette und entspannte Gastgeber, geschmackvolle Unterkünfte und perfekt ausgestattete und sehr schöne gemeinsam genutzte Küche und Aufenthaltsraum, super Yoga-Plattform, traumhafte Bucht und riesen Strand quasi für uns (Gäste hier) allein.

The rawness and close to nature..

There is nothing to add to that , because I had the best sleep of the whole trip… for me was 5 stars.

Die Unterkunft liegt einem privaten Garten direkt an einer kleine Bucht. die Zelte sind sauber die Betten Komfortabel und die Anlage schön gepflegt. Die Gastgeber sind freundlich und immer für gute Tips parat. Zum Abschalten und seine Ruhe haben super geeignet. Verpflegung unbedingt vor Anreise kaufen (genügend)

Die Strasse zur Unterkunft ist, wen man sie öfters Fahren muss eine richtige nervige Angelegenheit 10km Schotterweg mit Schlaglöchern von Puerto Jiminez. Ihr könnt gut und gerne 35 min für die Strecke einberechnen. Da man sich hier Selbst versorgt, kauft am besten vor der Anreise ein. Es gibt keinen Laden oder Restaurant in der Nähe ausser in Puerto Jiminez.

This place has stolen our hearts. We couldn’t be more thankful and happy with our stay here, best in our 3,5 weeks in Costa Rica! The nicest owners who put their heart, soul and much effort in this lovely ecolodge with lots of attention for the wildlife welfare. Our tent by the beach was lovely. (It’s one of the nicest beaches we saw and we were there all alone!) Sunrises and sunsets there were amazing. We saw all four monkeys species each day, macaws flew over our heads and we saw lots of other wildlife too: truly unique being so close to nature and wildlife. This is not just a nice place to stay, it’s a whole experience beyond compare. Couldn’t recommend this place enough!! Thank you for having us, we will be cherishing our stay there forever and will be back.

The location and friendly , helpful staff. You can sleep listening to the ocean waves. The tent is comfortable and clean. It's amazing and imerse in Nature

The shower head was missing. Simple fix. The kitchen closes quite early at 8 pm. And we requested half hour more and everything worked out.

The location is absolutely stunning right by the beach and the lodges/tents are basic but have the essentials. They stay dry throughout heavy rain are nicely decorated and each have electricity but no Wi-Fi or phone signal this is available in the communal areas though, there is no hot water and the shower is more of a high up tap, each lodge/tent has a toilet but it is open to the outdoors and bugs.

What made our stay somewhat disappointing was that they only accept cash payment and we found getting cash out in the area really confusing and difficult especially on a Sunday when all local banks are closed. We ended up driving around for about three hours trying to get cash out which meant that we had to drive the slightly challenging roads to get to the lodge in the dark. Once we arrived by 7 checked in and unpacked we also found that the shared kitchen had closed at 8 and all your food was locked away. There were lots of rules to follow like not being allowed to use hair dryers or straighteners, shoes only allowed to be worn outside, no eating after 8, no hot drinks outside the communal areas that close at 8, it felt a bit restrictive. Also depending on the kind of holiday you’re looking for there is very little to do once we’d visited Corcovado national park that you can only do on a booked tour with a guide that you organise yourself (which is amazing I highly recommend) the nearest town is very small and not much there in terms of things to do. You can hire a surf board from this accommodation but there are no lifeguards or even other people by the beach so it’s not very safe even if you’re a confident surfer as there can be rip tides or other unforeseen risks. We ended up finding ourselves a bit bored and checked out early which was a shame given the really positive reviews I read when I booked.

Beautiful quiet and special place, for nature lovers! Was hard for us to leave... Silvina and Dario were so helpful, the place is full of animals all around, beautiful private beach to watch the sunrise, shared new and well-equiped open kitchen where you can cook your own meals. No A/C (its an Ecoodge) but a nice breeze from the sea.
