Four Monkeys Eco Lodge - Jungle & Beach

Beautiful lodge and facility. Staff was more than accommodating. Beach was beautiful. I was able to walk to a nearby restaurant and waterfall.

Pretty secluded. Which isn't a bad thing. Unless you're with out transportation.

The new tents are amazing, much better accommodations than the fancy resort we’d come from. The beds were unbelievably comfortable, such a good sleep. It was so clean and perfectly decorated. The baskets and storage behind the bed were lovely. Silvina and Dario made us feel like family, the kitchen is lovely but they were opening a state of the art, second kitchen as we left. A beautiful yoga palapa and sunrise from your bed. There is a lovely sand beach just a half minute from the tent. I can’t describe well enough the sense of peace and calm we had there. It’s certainly a magical place, the location and the owners. Howler monkeys serve as wake up, scarlet macaws, so many birds and endless butterflies call this place home. You are surrounded by the beauty of nature and the gentleness of nurture.

Nothing, it was perfect for me.

Silvina is so sweet and she cares so much about creating a special experience for guests. Four Monkeys is relatively new, so the rooms are super clean, and the mattresses and very comfy. It's definitely a step above glamping (feels more like a hotel room than a tent) but still open-air. Sunrises from the room are amazing. I really recommend it for nature lovers. We did an amazing tour with corcovadotours.com and they picked us up right at Four Monkeys. The beach is basically private and great for a swim once (just be careful with the rocks). There are also two clean breaks for surfing on either side of the lodge here and boards for rent. Silvina is doing a lot of work to actively improve the space and is eager to help make her guests' experience memorable. She made a delicious breakfast for us too w/ eggs and fresh fruit from the garden. I will definitely come back when in Osa again. Oh yea and the doggies on premise are awesome.

The place can be difficult to reach because the roads are bumpy and it is easy to accidentally drive past. It did seem like the roads are currently being paved and fixed though (December 2024).

Simple, really like camping in the jungle. Great location for what we wanted between jungle & beach. Very very helpful host, brilliant communication! Helped me with things (like tour advice) other than accommodation once booked. Very grateful & kind of them! If you enjoy company & want a warm welcome it’s perfect!

It was less private than expected for us, the shower area & accommodation face the house so their balcony is visible along with the owners when showering. Pretty sure they can’t see in. The kitchen and area to sit is part of their house, very short stroll down a path. Even though the hosts are superb, we didn’t quite realise the lack of private space, fine if you know & would not stop us returning! Army ants got in to our space but to be fair it was rainy season and in effect we were glamping.

It’s hard to condense a place into a few sentences. Four monkeys, while there were many many monkeys, is much more than abundant wildlife. The beaches were quiet, secluded and clean. The room was tasteful and built with an eye for quality and beauty. Dario and Silvina were attentive and kind. All around a dreamy place- one worth seeing in person.

Great location

Cabana was really close to road. Dust and noise from trucks all night long. Proprietor insisted on being paid in cash, though closest ATM is 30 mins away.

If you love animals and like to be surrounded by nature, then this is the best place to be. While we were there we saw hummingbirds, macaws, toucans, halloween crab and two different types of monkeys. All of them in the garden of the property. The plants and trees attract the animals. The hosts are very friendly and gave good advice about things that can be done nearby (e.g. horseback riding). Their 3 dogs and 2 cats are adorable. We miss this place already. Be aware that you are in a less-developed area of Costa Rica with limited options of restaurants.

If you like animals and going off the beaten path, there is nothing not to like about this place.

The cabins / tents in the jungle make it amazing! We saw several types of monkeys , the macaws and toucans! Walked to a great waterfall. We enjoyed the hosts very much and the friendly cats and dogs made a most memorable experience. Thank you very much!!

We couldn’t believe we were able to see all 4 types of monkeys on the property. We even got a chance to see an anteater one night and a bunch of macaws, hummingbirds and butterflies. We also saw a coati and an otter on the beach. We also really enjoyed the company of the owners and their cats and dogs. Couldn’t tell you which one we loved more: Fiona, Ozzy or Rufus. ;) The owners were very accommodating and the kitchen was excellent. They even helped us use the BBQ which was a nice surprise! We plan to come back and bring my parents. Lovely property. Wish I was rich so I could buy it. ;) Truly a unique experience!

There was a power outage one morning and the internet was weak but that wasn’t why we came to the lodge so that didn’t bother us.
