Very friendly and helpful staff. Room and shared facilities clean and basics covered. Lovely breakfast inc of buffet continental and cooked options. Bed super comfy. Parking right outside the door. The 4 course dinner at the castle was delicious and definately recommend. Met some interesting people and the flavors were divine. I chose Scallops, Lamb and Pear with gingerbread. Delicious! The castle itself is a wonderful piece of history and a good intro for heading into Dunedin and seeing the historic sites and Settlers Museum

A low ceiling in my room meaning I had to duck to move round the bed. The shower that went cold while I was in it one morning. The stairs in the stables to the rooms are pretty big for hefting heavy bags up.

Brendan checked us in and went above and beyond to make sure we were fed after arriving late and missing the dining experience. The room was large and comfortable with a beautiful view to wake up too.

Included breakfast was delicious. Loved the character-filled stables. Lovely place to stay. Great place to stay especially if you’re wanting to explore the Otago Peninsula or see the castle. Were really helpful with our toddler too.

Nothing - about a 20 min drive to Dunedin city if that matters.

Breakfast was great. Choice of approx 8 options for cooked breakfast plus continental options also. Definitely need a car for this location. Beds super comfy. Lovely room in the lodge, Rose room. Would have been 10 rating except water temp in shower luke warm on full heat.

This stay exceeded our expectations, it was a gem. The staff were amazing and the room was comfortable and good value for money with breakfast included in the price. We would happily stay there again and we look forward to another stay in the future.

Quaint and great location

We didn’t realise there were no eateries within proximity open after 7:30 on Friday night. Our only option was room service when we arrived at 8pm. A heads up about that would be good in correspondence sent before arrival.
