An amazing location with amazing staff. Our guides Reno and Danny were fantastic as they took us through the jungle on a trek, Dian was amazing at rafting us home. The staff at the accommodation and kitchen/office were welcoming and amazing throughout. I cannot recommend the accommodation and especially the staff enough.

You have to walk up a hill to get to the property, but you’d have to walk up the hill in any case to enter the national park. The views are also well worth it.

Quiet peaceful and serene. Teaming with wildlife right on the edge of the ancient jungle. Amazing.

Nothing not to like. So long as you are an outdoor active sort this location is made for you. We extended our stay twice the only thing we didn't like was having to leave. xxx

- Unsere Guides Amri und Dean waren wirklich großartig. Beide waren super freundlich, hilfsbereit und konnten uns unglaublich viel über den Dschungel, die Flora und Fauna erzählen. Man hat gemerkt, dass sie viel Erfahrung und Leidenschaft für ihre Arbeit haben. - Wir hatten sehr viel Spaß mit ihnen und die Atmosphäre war total entspannt. Abends haben wir in der Unterkunft sogar noch gemeinsam Karten gespielt, was die Tour sehr persönlich und besonders gemacht hat. - Die Tour war sehr authentisch. Zwar war das Gelände oft rutschig und bei etwa 30 Grad auch körperlich anstrengend, aber genau das hat das Erlebnis so besonders gemacht. - Das Rafting zurück in die Stadt war richtig schön und ein toller Abschluss der Tour. - Die Unterkünfte während der Tour waren einfach, aber mit Fliegennetz ausgestattet und insgesamt völlig ausreichend. Baden im Fluss direkt bei der Unterkunft war ebenfalls sehr angenehm. - Das Hotel Orangutan Bungalow hat uns ebenfalls sehr gut gefallen. Wir wurden am Abend noch abgeholt und auch der Transport vom Flughafen wurde organisiert, was alles sehr unkompliziert gemacht hat. - Die Unterkunft dort war wirklich toll – eine große Hütte mit eigenem Badezimmer und eine sehr schöne Anlage insgesamt. - Besonders positiv fanden wir auch, dass es dort vegane Frühstücksoptionen gab, zum Beispiel Früchte sowie ein Porridge mit Wasser und Banane.

- Ein kleiner Kritikpunkt war das Essen während der Tour. Ich hatte bereits zweimal vorher erwähnt, dass wir vegan essen, trotzdem wurde uns einmal zum Mittagessen Hähnchen mit Reis serviert. Wir konnten deshalb nur den Reis essen. - Danach wurde zwar etwas mehr darauf geachtet, allerdings waren manche Dinge weiterhin nicht ganz klar vegan, zum Beispiel Toast (enthält ja oft Milchpulver) beim Frühstück oder Kekse zum Kaffe nachmittag waren auch nicht vegan - Generell wäre es schön, wenn bei veganem Essen noch etwas genauer auf Zutaten wie Milchpulver oder Shrimppaste geachtet werden würde.

Just a heart warming place they have. I really wish we had more time and should have stayed for alleast a week here. Very peaceful place, food is good, rooms are clean and good. We got here very early and in our 2 months of travel not a single hotel gave us early checkin for free. They gave us a welcome drink, warm smile and helped us with lot of questions. Stay here without any fault

This was our first time in Indonesia so not sure if economic stats do not have hot water but besides that this is a brilliant place

Die große Freundlichkeit an der Rezeption, die auch bei allen anderen Fragen hilft (Orang Utan trekking). Viel Ruhe direkt am Rand des Urwaldes. Wenig Mücken! Moskitonetz über dem Doppelbett. Stand-Ventilator im Zimmer. Unterstützung beim Gepäcktragen. 10-15 min. von ECOLODGE zu Fuß vom Tal hinauf. Es ist auch nachts nicht zu heiß! Nach 1Woche Urlaub sehr gerne wieder!

We chose the Orangutan Bungalow to allow us to explore the rain forest and undertake one of the overnight jungle tours. The taxi drops you off at the end of the path and you have to walk (uphill) to the property. Thankfully the staff carry cases for you but in the tropical heat, it is still a bit of a trek! It is worth it when you arrive, the Bungalow and the grounds are beautiful - so peaceful and idyllic. We had booked a three bedroom villa (family of 4 with 2 teens) and it was perfect for us. It is not modern, but it is clean and in keeping with the rainforest theme. One of the bedrooms is up a small flight of stairs but offers panoramic views of the rainforest. We were visited by a family of Thomas Leaf Monkeys who, at one point, were peering through the window into the bathroom! The bungalow offers a limited but tasty menu with a nice range of drinks. It was so peaceful and calm here - very different to staying in Medan! Sadly my trip didn't last very long as I was rushed to hospital with kidney stones before staying a night! The staff were fantastic for us - two of them drove myself and my wife 3 hours back to Medan and one of them stayed with us until they knew we were being looked after. As my wife stayed with me (to sort the insurance nightmare), it meant our two teens were left back at the property but the staff there looked after them, making sure they were fed, watered and regularly checked in on - we cannot fault their help, warmth and hospitality. When my family's stay was over, the driver/guide even came into the hospital to see if I was ok! I cannot comment anymore, but my family tell me the jungle trip was good fun (if not a little tough) and the guides were brilliant, really looking after them. If you are looking for a stay away from it all and back to nature, we can really recommend this property.

This wasn't an issue for us, but other travellers might find the 20 minute uphill walk to the property challenging.
