Atitlan Sunset Lodge

De kamer was ruim. De douche was prima. Het uitzicht is mooi, hoewel wij veel regen en bewolking hadden. Maar daar heb je natuurlijk geen invloed op. Het eten was goed.

Bij aankomst geen enkele service. Niemand die ons ontving of even uitlegde wat de bedoeling was. Zelf meermaals gevraagd of we konden inchecken (moesten wachten tot we de kamer op konden), tot iemand ons uiteindelijk zonder enige woordenuitwisseling naar de kamer leidde. Bij vertrek gevraagd of iemand ons kon helpen met mijn koffer naar beneden tillen op de vele trappen, hetgeen werd toegezegd. Vervolgens kwam niemand opdagen. Ook vertelde het personeel niets uit zichzelf over de boten etc. of wat te verwachten. Geen enkele tekst en uitleg. De kamer rook muf en het bed was erg kort voor lange mensen. Voeten kwamen over de rand van het bed.

Came to enjoy a relaxed vacation, ended up suffering racist behavior from the hotel administrator...! For some reason, god knows why, the hotel administrator Sisi decided to speak extremely bad about ME with other GUESTS at the hotel bar, unaware of me hearing every word while being in the hot tub downstairs. Sisi decided to tell these other GUESTS that in a nice and friendly conversation between us (or so I thought..), which took place several hours before, I lied to her face saying I work as a teacher back home. Sisi concluded, based on my COUNTRY OF ORIGIN and SOLELY on that, that I'm not a teacher, but probably some kind of a mercenary working for the Guatemalan government. God knows...and that is after during our conversation she emphasized time and again how she hates racist people and accepts people from all backgrounds and places. Sisi, YOU ARE THE RACIST. Shame on you, and shame on this hotel for employing you

La vista al volcán es espectacular, maravillosa, perfecta. La ropa de cama y almohadas están muy bien! Todo muy limpio. La llegada es muy fácil y muy cerca de Panajachel en lancha.

Hay cositas en el apto que están viejitas, pero todo funciona bien.

Realmente es un espacio para descansar, Santa Cruz queda al otro extremo del hotel, una experiencia rica para caminar, pero aprovecha a llegar antes y comprar golosinas ya que en el hotel todo es de mayor precio y no hay mucha variedad

Por la noche llovió y se inundó el dormitorio, se mojaron las maletas y todo lo que teníamos en el piso, había muchas goteras 😖

Las vistas eran espectaculares y la habitación muy cómoda. Un lugar perfecto para descansar y desconectar. Silencio absoluto por las noches. Pasan lanchas continuamente que te llevan a cualquier pueblo del lago. Fuimos para 2 noches, solicitamos una tercera y quisimos reservar dos más pero ya no había sitio.

The view was amazing. We had the opportunity to watch the lunar eclipse from our deck and living room window. It was the best place in the world to watch a lunar eclipse over the lake with a clear sky. The room was tastefully decorated. The bed comfortable. Actually we pushed the 2 beds together. We walked along the lake to Santa Cruz la Laguna. It was an enjoyable walk with flower gardens.along the way. Then we took a tuktuk uphill to the town center for lunch. I highly recommend Sunset Lodge.

Love the staff especially Sisi! The location is great, not too far from Pana or Santa cruz.

I got the studio so it is in renovation. Still was nice for what I paid :)
