Beautiful, peaceful, amazing property. We felt like we were relaxing in an Italian villa. We loved walking around the property, sipping wine on the balcony, and admiring the beautiful house. The host was very gracious, interesting, and friendly. We will be visiting there again!

There is no air conditioning upstairs. It is not needed because of the temperate climate, but if there was a heat wave, you maybe want to check with the host first. He is very kind and thoughtful. Perhaps you could request a portable unit or something if it’s needed? Don’t know if he would offer that, but I would check before ruling it out if that’s important yo you.

The property was beautiful, quiet and well maintained. Could not have been nicer. Location was great; put in the country but just a short trip into town.

Everything was great.

Huge property, comfortable room. Attractive grounds. Friendly hosts. Friendly cat. An interesting and worthy alternative to chain hotels...if you can find the place.

Seems to be the sort of place that's better second time around when you know the ropes. No signage or indication anywhere that "indeed, this is the place you booked". Then you have a choice of dirt roads to take with no signage to point the way. It took a few tries to find the right spot. even with written follow-up directions. The road you want to turn off on, from the artery, is spelled differently at either end (coming from town, you want the 'other" end) and of course there is no cell service so you have to drive back towards town to call them. Starts things off on a negative note and it's beyond me why the proprietor would want to open himself up to this. He explained it to me. I know. Still don't get it. Unfamiliar late-night arrivals (don't expect any lights to be on or anything like that) could be panic inducing in these days of being shot at by paranoid maniacs. Couldn't help notice the cobwebs and at one corner of the house, by the upstairs balcony, a sizeable pile of mouse droppings.

There was an (opaque) window in the room that faced the hallway. It let light into the room all night long. A blackout curtain would have been nice and allowed me to get some sleep.
