Location is awesome just at start of ella rock trail

We spent 3 days here and absolutely loved it. The hotel was stunning, with a beautiful room surrounded by nature. Hearing the waterfall was very tranquil and added to the nature aesthetic. Not only was the hotel perfect but the host, Dumindu, went above and beyond to make sure we had the best time possible exploring Ella. He was friendly, kind, generous, extremely helpful and was around to help with anything at any time. He was so genuine and made staying there an absolute dream. He was also a fantastic cook and made some delicious breakfasts and dinner for us (special mention to his superb chicken Kottu). We loved Ella as there was so much to see, do and eat but our stay here truly elevated our experience and next time we come back to Ella we know where we’ll be staying! Thank you so much Dumindu - we’ll miss you!!

I had an incredible stay at this accommodation! The location is absolutely stunning and the closest point to start the hike to Ella Rock—perfect for nature lovers. But the real highlight? The owner! He is the best ever—so kind, welcoming, and always ready to help. No words can truly describe how amazing he is! He was approachable, made me feel at home, and even cooked dinner for me every night. And let me tell you, he is a fantastic chef! I originally planned to stay for two nights but could have easily stayed a week. Plus, there was hot water in the shower at all times, which was a great bonus. I highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Ella

There are no bed sheets to cover yourself, but there are blankets instead haha very interesting for a European.. i asked for another blanket because it was fresh at night and he of course offered it without hesitation 🤗

Domindo hosted us as if we were old friends and was very flexible with everything, he even helped us fix our tuktuk even if the broken mirror was not his responsibility. The place is a bit remote but it was very nice to be in the nature, and it is at the starting point of the Ella rock hike, so perfect to go for sunrise.

The road to access the place is not so easy (we had our own rented tuktuk) but I guess it’s the deal to enjoy such a peaceful place ☺️

the accommodation is secluded. if you want to relax, hear only the waterfall, sometimes the iconic train, then this is the place for you. i felt fantastic. there are farmers working in the fields around. this accommodation deserves your attention. great

The host is extremly friendly and made us feel welcome immediately. You can not drive to the cottage. Is is a short hike along a track to the cottage. Of course the host will help you with you luggage. In the morning you can immediately start your hike up Ella Rock or take a bath in the rock pool outside the cottage.the view is spectacular. Host made us a lovely dinner. You are surrounded by nature. At the same time Ella is not far away. Very good hiking tracks on your doorstep.

We were there when it rained. The room felt damp and cold. The bathroom was very smelly. When it's warm probably all not a problem, as it get's aired better. Host gave us lots of blankets and turned the hot water on for us.

Beautiful guest house with modern facilities, excellent service and delicious food. The rooms are spacious and the beds comfortable. The bathroom is completely modern. The trail to Ella’s rock starts right next to the cottage. There is also a river, where it’s possible to refresh oneself. Since it’s also a restaurant, it’s possible to have breakfast, lunch and dinner. The host is the nicest person ever and helps with anything you need. Highly recommended!

Absolutely incredible experience and without a doubt our favourite place we stayed in Sri Lanka. Where to start….! Dumindu is a wonderful person, an excellent host and an exquisite chef. He went above and beyond throughout our stay and is such a kind and genuine person. We were blown away by the location, immersed in nature. The rooms have huge windows which cover the whole end wall with views onto a beautiful river. It’s surrounded by tea plantations and generally stunning scenery. We stayed for 3 nights and because the food was so good we ate dinner here every night and one lunch. The rice and curry was INCREDIBLE and the best we’ve had on our whole trip. The vegetables are grown organically in his garden and everything was made with love and passion. The room is lovely with a really comfy bed, mosquito net and an exposed brick wall and everything you need for a cosy, comfortable stay. We are genuinely sad to have left and hope to return in the future. The whole experience exceeded expectations! We also think he’s undercharging for what he is offering!! Thank you Dumindu. The property is located in such a tranquil space situated away from the busy town. Our room was absolutely lovely and such good value for money. The owners were so kind too, and the food was great. Would recommend to anyone looking to recharge in nature.

It didn’t bother us but the journey into town on a moped takes 20 minutes and would only recommend for a confident driver as the roads are quite steep.

We had a wonderful stay there! The hosts were incredibly friendly and went out of their way to make us feel at home. The dinner and breakfast they served were delicious, and the room was both lovely and comfortable with a stunning view. We really enjoyed our time here and would love to come back again."
