Watercress Lodges & Campsite

The location next to the Heritage railway was never a problem as it only runs during the day, and is a nice day trip out if you have no plans Nothing is ever that perfect - there were issues such as a leaking boiler and issues with cigarettes and litter on the property- but these were very quickly sorted out/repaired. As for the location it is very good for visiting some historic places like Winchester (about 30 minutes away by car) and the south coast (Portsmouth is about 50 mins away by car), then you will be OK but I can't say anything about using public transport in this rural location. If we were going back to the area again it would be somewhere I would go back to.

Not a lot to dislike to be honest, as I said there were a couple of issues we had but these were fixed quickly. However if I was being "really critical" about the place; the decor accross the property and furniture in the lounge were "a bit tired" and some appliances (washer and tumble dryer in particular) needed a bit of cleaning/maintenance doing to them.

Lovely location, great to hear the steam train from the lodge.

The camping was a little too close too the lodges, as they didn't go to bed till very late

Location was nice, and the park at the railway station was good.

Very run-down. We were a group of 4 families, each with our own house. All were banged up and quite dirty, and one stank of mould and the fridge was inexcusable. Promoting yourself as a 4-star property based upon an assessment in 2013 is not fair or representative, as I’m sure if that were to be done today it would be more like a 2.

Lovely quiet location.lodge was spacious,clean and had everything that was needed.

Lovely location, quiet and pretty. The train station makes for something different.

There were lots of cobwebs still in the property so a more thorough clean would be of benefit.
