Watercress Lodges & Campsite

Amazing location, our children loved watching trains on one side and tractors on the other. We also enjoyed walking our dog along the railway line, seeing bunnies and cows. The nearby woods were beautiful too. Really great family adventures to be had.

Location was great for visiting friends in Portsmouth. Easy to find and very accessible. The welcome basket was a lovely touch too. Very spacious for a family of four (two young children) with highchair and stairgate which was very welcome.

Attention to detail with regards to the overall cleanliness could have been a little better, the microwave was dirty, dust accumulated in corners of the bathroom. The TV power cable was faulty but we didn’t use the TV during our stay so this wasn’t a problem to us. Other than that, the linen was fresh and beds very comfortable. We knew with the location there would be train noise but hadn’t realised how late this would go on for. On the Saturday night we heard steam trains until approx 11:30pm which woke the children and therefore wasn’t ideal. Second night we had a better nights sleep with minimal noise so depends on the day I guess!

The chalet was a really good size and proportions. It was exceptionally clean. The location was perfect! Any Harry Potter fans will wish to walk onto 'Harry Potter Bridge ' which can be seen from the property and is about a one minute walk.The property is next to Ropley Station on the Watercress line.

Very quiet and peaceful location. Beautiful setting with the trainline and running steam traisn going by daily. Staff were attentive and moved us when we had a little issue in the first cottage

There was a very annoying noise with the water pressure, possibly air trapped in the pipes, we were woken up through the night with the kitchen tap switching itself on. Whenever we used the upstairs toilet or shower the taps in the kitchen would switch on so we had to leave these running while using the facilities. Then half way through the trip we used the dishwasher for the first time and it flooded the kitchen. We called site to advise and they moved us to new cottage which was lovely of them.
