Star Dam Lodges

The rooms were very clean and spacious. The views were also breath taking. Thanks to Mam Bhele and Elliot for making our stay pleasant and their assistance. If it wasn't for their services, we would have had a terrible time.

We were disappointed with our experience at Star Dam. The primary reason we chose to book this accommodation was for the activities advertised. Unfortunately, upon arrival, we discovered that these activities were not available. Th fishing rods were faulty, horses were unavailable, and we had specifically booked for 12 noon to participate in the boat ride, only to be informed at 12:30 that the motor is not working. This effectively means that the only activity offered is also unavailable. Also, the firewood we recieved was wet, and Elliot had to get wood elsewhere for it to start the fire. This is extremely frustrating, as the activities were the main pull factor in our decision to book, activities are falsely advertised. As guests, it feels unfair to have made this commitment based on offerings that could not be delivered. The host Allison didn't take accountability nor did they apologise.

Waterford Lodge is stunning. Breath-taking views and luxurious decor. Exceptionally clean, spacious and comfortable. Nothing to do but relax and unwind.

Sometimes difficult communicating with the on-site helpers as their English was limited. It would be great if the foliage directly in front of the deck could be trimmed down, to allow for even better views of the dam.

View is spectacular. Staff were attentive and extremely friendly. Clean. Has everything you need to enjoy your stay

The place is stunning and the views from the lodge were amazing. It is right on the lake so it is serene and beautiful. The lodge itself is well appointed and super rustic.

The communication with the host was a bit difficult (response times are slow) and also the signal is quite bad if not at all. Power cut because of the storms but luckily, people came to switch on the generators. Roads are quite rough getting into the property so an SUV is definitely preferred.
