The location is spectacular, breakfast delivered each morning to the chalet is great, very comfy bed, wildlife right at the patio door

Dinner is a bit expensive but very good

this hotel is in a beutiful part of the world .. the actual lodge is 5 star .. the service from staff 10 star .. the rooms are spotless clean .. comfy .. warm .. furnished simply but elegant .. plenty of parking .. the reception area / bar / restaurant fetaures a timeless classic design and feel and its perfect for the location .. quite peaceful breathtaking views from our room of the river and mountain side ... really well worth the stay .. we onyl stayed one night but well stay again .. cant speak more highly of the service from staff .. we interacted with a few diff people ie checkin checkout .. bar staff .. all of them offered very high standards of service

A stunning and unique location with breathtaking views. The food at Pio Pio restaurant was of excellent quality, the rooms were beautiful, and the staff were friendly ans attentive. An unforgettable experience that I would highly recommend.

The Milford Sound Lodge was magnificent. Cannot recommend it highly enough. It was recommended to us by friends who had visited in 2025 but we were put off by the cost. However, just 2 weeks out we changed our mind as we wanted our Milford Sound experience to be less rushed and thought spending a night would help with our time management. So glad we spent a night here. The cost is high which we thought would be largely contributed to the remoteness and lack of services however, we were wonderfully surprised by the amenities and luxury that we found in the room. Obviously, the location, overlooking the river was the main winner with huge floor to ceiling glass doors and a couple of outdoor chairs to enjoy the view. The bed was extremely comfortable with lovely linen and the tea/coffee options were high end including delicious Wild Seed tea leaves. Bathroom was well appointed and large. All up the experience was very comfortable. Car parking spot was right next door and you do share a wall with the next cabin but we didn't hear our neighbours. We ventured over to the bar for Happy Hour and had a delightful encounter with the staff there (Thomas and Peter) and delicious Margaritas. We then headed over to the camp kitchen to cook our pasta dinner. (Our attempt to mitigate the costs!) This was well appointed with 4 stoves, plenty of bench space and pans and plates etc and is used by the campers. The campground sits in front of the cabins. You do need to bring all your food to Milford as while there is a restaurant at the lodge, there is no shop at Milford. Spending sunrise at the car park lookout with only 1 other person was pretty special. Then we had a wonderful generous breakfast delivered to the room (included in the room tariff). We chose our options the night before via email and our warm and cold breakfast comprised of croissant, fruit salad, muffin, barrista coffee and hot chocolate. Was plentiful and delicious. Do yourself a favour and stay here.
