Black Bull Retreat, Barmston with Private Hot Tubs

Check-in at reception was quick and hassle-free. The managers were incredibly friendly and welcoming, which made a great first impression. The pub is under new management and currently undergoing refurbishment, but you can already see the improvements taking shape. We stayed in one of the cabins, which were modern, spotless, and fully equipped with everything we could possibly need – even a dishwasher and washing machine! The beds were super comfy, and there was plenty of storage space. It was warm, cosy, and the perfect little getaway. The highlight for us was definitely the hot tub – lovely and hot, perfect for relaxing under the stars on cool evenings. We had a meal at the pub on our first night; although the menu was limited, the burgers were absolutely delicious! We also enjoyed a few games of pool and darts afterwards, which was great fun. On our second day, the boiler went off, but the managers were fantastic – they came straight over and switched the gas bottle within five minutes. That’s what I call excellent customer service! We had such a wonderful stay and would 100% recommend.

This time we didnt have much of a veiw but last time it was a gorgeous veiw of fields I think thats literally the only thing I can pick at tbh.

It had a hot tub

We were located right under a large tree that banged on the accommodation constantly, and meant that whenever we were in the hot tub it was full of leaves. We requested more pans as we only found one in the property but got no reply. The WiFi for our lodge ( number 24) was non existent so we had no signal majority of the weekend

Perfect location

The outside area was a bit shabby & it’s not as reasonably priced as other properties with similar amenities.
