Choona Lodge 'view of sigiriya & pidurangala with sunrise'

The view from the rock at the back of the hotel is excellent. Great breakfast. Good location. Walking distance to the rock.

Lovely peaceful guesthouse, such a good location for visiting Sigirya rock and the view point in the garden is amazing. Had a really nice vibe, very relaxed and staff were very helpful with everything we asked.

The walls are VERY thin, especially annoying when people are getting up early to do sunrise hikes, but as we were also doing early walks it wasn't a huge problem.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Choona Lodge, and my overall experience was quite positive. One of the standout features for me was the excellent value for money. The pricing was reasonable, and I felt that the services provided were well worth the cost. The serene and calm location of the Lodge added to the overall appeal, offering a peaceful environment that allowed for a truly relaxing stay. The staff at Choona Lodge played a crucial role in making our stay enjoyable. They were incredibly helpful, providing assistance whenever needed and contributing to a welcoming atmosphere. Additionally, the backdrop behind the Lodge showcased a beautiful view of Sigiriya and Pidurangala, particularly stunning during sunrise, making it a memorable aspect of the stay.

While the breakfast provided was decent, falling within expectations, We found the English breakfast to be average. A slightly larger quantity would have been appreciated, considering the amount spent. The tranquil setting of the location was marred only by the prevalence of mosquitoes, which proved to be a consistent issue throughout the stay. Additionally, finding the Lodge was a bit challenging due to inaccurate Google Maps directions, emphasizing the importance of reaching out to them for precise guidance. On the downside, the room felt a bit small and cramped, and while the washrooms were acceptable for the price, We would have preferred a higher level of cleanliness. The persistent presence of mosquitoes in the room was a minor inconvenience, though as a Sri Lankan, I understand that this is not an uncommon occurrence. :)

Had the best and biggest room in the house, almost too big for one person, but with a nice balcony. Good breakfast and dinner. Very friendly hosts. Walking distance to Sigiriya rock. Biggest plus: sunset rock accessible from the backyard with beautiful view to Sigiriya and Pidurangala rocks.

Shower is a trickle.
