Magatama Villa by Mahaputra

We arrived in the middle of the night during the Day of Silence, and someone was waiting for us to check us in. The staff was absolutely lovely. The views and pool are worth the price. We absolutely enjoyed our stay.

Firstly this place is absolutely gorgeous and in the lap of nature. You will hear sounds of other creatures which makes you feel like you are in your own little jungle which is very calming for a person who travelled from a super modern busy city. This place helped me detox and touch grass literally. The bath tub is so gorgeous and everything is so earthen which makes for a very charming stay. The location is a bit off beat but I think that’s the best part. No noise.. no crowd. It’s a great place to either start your trip or end your trip if you want relaxation and peace. Being this close to nature you will encounter/hear the other creatures that we share space with so keep that in mind while booking. I feel they add to the charm of this place. The staff is very helpful and attentive. 100 % would recommend

We had a bit of trouble with hot water pressure. The water is warm not hot and the pressure is a bit slow. I would have enjoyed the gorgeous washroom more if it had proper water pressure

It was a wonderful stay and the view from our private stay was just astonishing. Had a comfortable and fun stay at Magatama.🫶🫶

We loved our stay at Magatama! We had the most beautiful villa and the view was breathtaking, the rooms were very traditional with mosquito nets on all the beds. The pool was lovely and the staff were very helpful. We also loved our daily walk to De Pondok for dinner through the local village. The owners live across the road and my children met their children and they invited us in to pat their bunny rabbits, the kids loved this. Quick grab ride to all the rice field restaurants and swings, we really enjoyed this part of Bali. My husband and I loved sitting out on our balcony in the early evening, very relaxing.

They don't have a "restaurant" as advertised, it has since been closed so all dining is done at your room. We didn't mind it but if the sun was out you (and the food) are sitting in very hot direct sunlight so we ended up having to eat on our bed. Also as the food is served at your villa there are then ants. They really need to re-open the restaurant seating. Our children are 4 & 6 and the stairs to the attic are VERY steep and we had to put "rules" in about coming up and down, it is not suitable for children younger than 5 (in the villa we stayed in).

Magatama Villa by Mahaputra is a stunning property, but it has a few minor shortcomings. The remote location makes getting to local attractions less convenient without private transport. Some guests have mentioned the need for better maintenance in certain areas, and the steep terrain may not be suitable for those with mobility concerns.
