Thornbeck Manor Lake Windermere

Open feel and lots of natural light with balcony. A high standard of finish to the decor and kitchen facilities, and Lake District theme to pictures etc which was a nice touch. It’s in a convenient location for Windermere village and Bowness, with a walk to either being approximately 10 - 15 minutes dependent upon walking speed.

Amazing and stunning property. Everything is well thought out from more than adequate towels, to dog treats, reading glasses, toothbrush, toothpaste and body wash. We particularly like the fact that the house was warmed up waiting for our arrival. Host was kind enough to not charge us for the soap dispenser that we accidentally broke.

Place is lovely and the welcome basket was a life saver (toothpaste lol) and a lovely thing to do. Especially the wee things for the dog. The wee blanket and bowl. The house is very comfortable and lovely bedrooms. Everything was thought about. Right down to coat hangers (my pet hate) and enough towels. The water in the fridge was another very nice touch. Lovely home away from home. The host was great responded to me quickly and no problems at all.

For us it was a bit far out of the towns although it was bang in the middle of Windemere and Bon'ess but a bit of a walk at the end of the night. (15 mins, feels longer when you've walking 3 hours before lol) Toilets all downstairs where the bedrooms are. None upstairs. We had been thinking of bringing my elderly mother in law, this would not of worked for her. Also the garden is not fully gated off for your dog. But not a big deal. But if you had a dog that wasn't good on recall you would have to put it on a lead out in garden. A few cobwebs on the windows of the kitchen and the balcony could've done with another clean but I would imagine its very hard to keep it clean. Overall though the house was lovely. I would recommend it.

Lovely designed and light property. We loved the bunk beds especially and the little stream in the garden.

We liked everything. It was missing some dishwasher tablets and loo paper but it did have amazing other goodies such a toothbrushes and a shower cap!

The location was excellent, close the high street.

Great location 15 minutes into Bowness and less than 10 minutes into Windermere. The house was spotless, very well equipped and warm. Garden and balconies to sit out weather permitting. Lots of free parking available on the drive and road. Lovely welcoming basket of goods on arrival.

We had a lovely stay at Thornbeck Manor Lake. Perfect stay for families, clean place and the kitchen is equipped with everything you need. Close to Windermere lake and located in very quiet area.

There was nothing to dislike in the place.
