SaffronStays Little Paradise, Murud

We had an amazing 2-nights stay at Saffronstays Little Paradise at Agardanda, Murud. It is located in a quaint Konkan village and provides the best environment to unwind with a beautiful sea view. The hosts Jehangir and Fathima and their team were lovely. They took care of us so well. Fathima cooked some lovely food and it was just perfect! The wooden cabin room had a sea view and the garden with the swing was serene. Soaking in the sunset was our favourite activity here. I would surely recommend this stay for anyone who wishes to destress in a calm environment. Rooms:There are only three cottages in the stay. All at slight elevation from the beach, hence view of the beach is awesome. Room had a very good smart tv with wifi connection. Tea/coffee station was there. Water from RO filter was given in bottles, as much as we wanted. The hosts were such sweethearts. Safety:Its located near the Rajpuri creek, Jungle Jetty ferry just next to Indian Coastguard Station, Murud Janjira. There are no safety issues as such since the property is well located. Walkability:A tiny semi-private beach is across the road, the view of which is right there from your room. The rocks on the beach and the cement culverts are perfect places to sit and enjoy sunset. Food and drinks:Fathima cooks some amazing Indian food. We had their chicken curry, chicken biriyani,dal,roti,rice, sabji, pomfret fry, bread omlette, kaanda bajji, watermelon juice, chai, poha, upma etc. They do have Chinese and few continental options too.

The hosts were really nice and the food was really good.

The location is very far away from everything (including Murud) so, if you don't have a car, no access to restaurants or stores and you are dependant on the staff to get you taxis but they're not around all day. Also, the property is not "on the beach", there's a very passing road between the property and a very sad beach. The bathroom is rundown, toilet doesn't flush, shower is waist height and faucet doesn't work. The bed is very uncomfortable. On top of all that, I woke up in the middle of the night to a rat in the bed!!!!!!!! The next morning I wanted to leave asap although we were booked for another night, Saffron Stays comped the overpriced dinner from the previous night but refused to refund the night we were not using. The whole thing was a nightmare...

Good View! Access to a quiet, nearly secluded beach (a small stretch, but charming). The staff was helpful and friendly—special thanks to Tariq and the team for their fantastic service. The food was delicious and beautifully prepared.

Over-valued - Price doesn’t match the experience provided. Rooms are quite small Only set-meals available; and expensive. No à la carte options, therefore any additional reuirment will be up-front refused. Washroom needs maintenance. Photos are misleading—beach isn’t directly outside the rooms. And the Beach is not ideal for swimming; to take a dip one will need to take a 20 minutes drive to Murud Beach. Property is isolated; Murud Beach and market are about a 20-minute drive away.
