Casa da Talhada - Stone House

This property is an incredible gem! It isn’t even possible to describe how cool it is. The views from the TWO rooftop terraces, the incredible artwork, the architectural details. Simply amazing!

Location inside the old city wall was amazing! We wished we were staying longer.

This is probably the most exquisite place we have ever stayed in. This is not a "luxurious" place, but it makes you feel like somewhat of a noble in medieval times: the house, the decor, and garden -- we had it all for ourselves (we were 3). It's in an unbelievable location, with views of Obidos from the top, the castle, the fields. We had breakfast at the garden, and felt like we could stay there longer.

If you arrive with luggage, you have to drag it a few hundred meters from the parking lot to the house.

Coffee maker did not make strong coffee , maybe leave some powdered milk for coffee

The house was spacious and tranquil, with a fantastic setting at the top end of the walled town, close to the castle. It was an old building, full of character, with beatuful art and old furniture, and with a lovely terraced garden overlooking the town below. The main street of Óbidos was busy with tourists during the day, but peaceful in the early morning and evening. The house is set back from the main street, and quiet. Óbidos was a good base for exploring the area. I would love to return.

You should be aware that the house is on different levels, so might not suit an individual with reduced mobility or young children. It is situated at the top end of the old town, so you should be prepared to carry or wheel your luggage from the car park to the house.
