Shangri Lanka Luxury Resort Yala

Gorgeous rooms. Super comfortable. Great staff with outstanding service. Food was good too. Booked the safari through them and was very good.

La connexion WiFi était assez médiocre voir inexistante

Heel mooi, comfortabel en schoon verblijf. Het bed ligt zeer goed, een van de betere bedden die we tot nu toe hebben gehad in Sri Lanka. Zwembad is schoon en leek zelfs een beetje verwarmd. Heerlijk om even te plonzen. Ze hebben een uitgebreid dinner menu en het eten is erg lekker. Safari naar Yala kan vanuit het hotel. Voor 15.000rs staat de jeep klaar en regelen ze een lekker ontbijtje voor je. Super.

Ze hebben een driver verblijf maar die mocht uiteindelijk toch niet blijven overnachten omdat wij via booking.com hadden geboekt. Een beetje apart en er kwam ook niet echt een uitleg. Daardoor toch een minpuntje. Je blijft er natuurlijk overnachten voor een bezoek aan Yala. In vergelijking met andere accomodaties is het wel aan de prijzige kant. Het personeel, wij denken een volledig gezin, is aardig maar kwam wat spichtig over. Het gaf ons een apart gevoel. Misschien doen ze het bewust om de klant een fijne ervaring te geven en wat meer op de achtergrond te blijven, maar dit voelde wat apart 🙂.

Personeel was echt supervriendelijk. Bungalow was groot en netjes, zwembad was fijn. Locatie was goed.

Disappointing Stay at Shangri-Lanka Village We booked Shangri-Lanka Village based on the advertised amenities, but sadly, the experience didn’t match the expectations. The WiFi was only available in the restaurant, not in the rooms as advertised. We were also told room service was not allowed and were asked to eat outside. The outdoor area had lots of mosquitoes and other insects, which led to multiple bites for both of our kids and us. One of our children even became unwell afterwards. The beds were uncomfortable, and the quilts were too small to cover the bed properly, making it hard to get a good night’s sleep. The only positive was the polite and professional staff—they genuinely tried to help. However, it felt like the owner prioritizes money over guest comfort. This stay was disappointing overall, and we wouldn’t recommend Shangri-Lanka Village unless significant improvements are made.

We liked everything about the property, the bedroom was very spacious with a table and chair to work with. Bathroom is super big, equal size to a typical bedroom. The pool was amazing and it was very clean and well kept. The staff was very accessible and helpful, Kumara and Neranji were the chief members who helped us during our stay. Kumara always had a wide smile across his space and was ready to help any time you needed him. We had dinner at the premises for two nights and one outside. Delicious food!

Nothing- we liked everything. Compared to some other nearby restaurants, dinner was a bit pricey.

We had such a peaceful stay here, we were only here for one night but loved how this property is surrounded by nature and is so calm. The room was really comfortable and huge! The staff were very friendly and attentive. We had dinner brought to our terrace and a packed breakfast for our morning safari. Would definitely recommend staying here and booking a safari through this accomodation!
