Romantic secluded Shepherd Hut Hares Rest

The hut was lovely and had everything you need. Breakfast provided was fabulous!

Too many dog hairs.

Everything was thought of and catered for, and the little extra touches, like the hamper of homemade bits, the log burner being ready to light, and the fresh flowers, just made it a perfect stay.

Nothing not to like

Great welcome hamper with quality local produce when I arrived. Wanted for nothing in the hut, wood burner already prepared incase I needed to use it. Very clean, well stocked with everything you'd need. Would recommend a stay

Everything to like for a secluded stay. Stayed with dogs, and they loved being able to run about exploring.

Super cute little shepherd hut. It had everything you need for a few nights away. Everything was clean, wood for the fire (inside and out) and included a lovely hamper with fresh produce. Easy to find, parking just a short walk from the hut, no problems with checking in or out. Great location near Frome and Trowbridge, not far from Bath, so lots of places to visit if you want to go out, shop or find something to eat. Mostly nice and quiet, see comments below. Didn’t get to meet the hosts but they have done a lovely job and are just a phone call away if you need them.

There is no Wi-Fi (not a big problem for us) but might be for some if you’re expecting it. There is no mention of a second accommodation in the field, it’s fine but on our first evening there was a couple with children who kept watching us the whole time and on the last evening a couple arrived with two small children who liked to scream and screech! So not completely the secluded and tranquil (apart from our second day/night) get away we had hoped for the whole time. It would be worth mentioning that there could be other people (with kids) there as we genuinely thought we would be on our own from the advert and photos and booked for that reason. I like to know what to expect. Obviously the screaming children are not the hosts fault. But other than that, loved it!

It was lovely and quiet the welcome hamper was really nice with lovely shortbread and a really lovely orange and almond homemade cake a real treat for us. Bedding was clean ,good size fridge lots of lanterns for the evening. Owners very friendly and helpful. Felt very chilled out good place to start reading a good book.

The hut was really comfortable and provided everything I could need - comfy bed, workable kitchen area, a good shower and outdoor space. The welcome hamper contained lots of delicious goodies and meant that breakfast and treats were covered for the duration of my stay. The addition of the fire pit and outdoor seating made the evenings lovely and it was a perfect balance of seclusion and security as a solo traveller. Would definitely come again!
